Isn’t The Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco so stunning? It’s pretty spectacular just to visit, so we can only imagine how attending a wedding there would be beyond magical. Not to mention having your wedding there like Jess + Jeff did. She’s a labor + delivery nurse and he’s a firefighter (dream team!) and they really wanted to say I Do at a SF landmark. Check!
Thanks to Sanford Creative for sharing the images below…
Their wedding style was organic + romantic (as you can see on Pinterest) with a green, white, and gold color story. Jess says, We wanted it to represent us in the way that we are easy going, warm and authentic people and our happy place is among our friends and family with a bit of nature… We didn’t just want a reception, we wanted a space that all our family and friends could enjoy and something that was a landmark and treasure of our beloved city.
Jeff made the escort display for 150 guests from a thrifted window frame + brass wire, and his mom calligraphed the invites. Jess sourced all the green vases for the tables too (that were also favors for guests).
Sanford Creative captured some portraits among the redwoods in Golden Gate Park afterward too.How impressive is it that they were able to fold fun details—Wayne’s World details (a nod to their first date), their fave pies, and a popcorn machine—into their minimal design so naturally? Love it.
On their biggest hurdle in planning… For a while we couldn’t decide: big or small. Then we thought small ceremony and bigger dinner or cocktail party to follow (everyone’s doing it these days!). The thought of location changes and who to invite to the ceremony vs dinner conflicted with our desire for simplicity. I won’t deny I was a little bummed when we decided that beautiful SF city hall was not where we would wed but all that went away when we saw The Conservatory of Flowers. It is a twenty-minute walk from our apartment and post-nuptials we’ve taken bike rides back to the park to remember how beautiful our day was.
All along the way it feels like there are do or die decisions. But the truth is the process of making those decisions with your partner and striving to focus on your love and marriage matter more so than those seemingly make or break details. Don’t be too tunnel-visioned. If something doesn’t feel right or seems too difficult put your heads and hearts together and you’ll end up right where you’re supposed to be. With each other.
So sweet. Congrats, Jess and Jeff!
