Sharing Huong + Kyle’s wedding is probably one of the best ways we can think of to kick off a new week. From her darling wedding dresses to the intimate photos Melanie Duerkopp captured of them at San Ysidro Ranch, not to mention their use of the pretty Pantone 2016 colors serenity + rose quartz, their day is full of inspiration.
Slightly obsessed with this lady’s style. Her reception dress is Johanna Johnson + the heels are Badgley Mischka embellished pumps in royal blue. For the ceremony she wore Sherri Hill + Jimmy Choo.
H + K loved Melanie’s ability to capture the intimate details—in having a 50 person wedding, it was super helpful that Melanie also had a small wedding herself!
Huong tells it, We wanted our wedding to be in a romantic, intimate, and picturesque setting and to be able to share it with our closest friends and family. I was torn between two styles, modern contemporary and romantic rustic. We visited several beautiful venues in Santa Barbara and nothing spelled intimacy like San Ysidro Ranch. Every garden, cellar, tiny nook was so beautiful. Everything about the Ranch was perfect for us. Another site we fell in love was the Santa Barbara Courthouse Mural Room. We decided to do the ceremony in the mural room which gave me some room to throw in some modern flair to this occasion.

Now for their story…
We both reside in California—Kyle in Southern California and myself in Northern California. We had a long distance relationship for over 3 years. We would make adventures out of our visits up and down the coast. Santa Barbara was on the list of destinations we previously never visited. The idea of getting married on the beach enticed the both of us. However, getting married on the beach did not fully exemplify us as people and our times together. For most of our relationship, Kyle would plan many of our weekend visits and often times in the most romantic settings; one most memorable is our engagement night under a beautiful well-lit restaurant.
