Garden themed winter wedding: Jane + Paul
It’s easy to go with a muted & neutral wedding color palate when your venue is Green Pastures, a gorgeous Victorian home in Austin, Texas, surrounded by sprawling oak trees. Jane, today’s bride and super creative lady (she’s a hand-letterer + graphic designer + photographer), found inspiration from old botanical prints, Francophone culture, Southern hospitality, big band and jazz music, and weaved it into the design of their wedding invitations and decor. That’s her gorgeous work below, captured by The Nichols…
Stunning florals from Posey Floral and Events.
I honestly thought I would make so many things for our wedding but once I got deep into planning I quickly adapted the “less is more” attitude. Although I did make a sign. I just couldn’t help myself. I stained a piece of plywood and painted the lyrics to one of our favorite songs, “In a Sentimental Mood.”
Bouquet recipe: ranunculus, gardenias, dusty miller, magnolia greens, bay laurels and a king protea.
From the bride: Planning a wedding was nothing like I imagined it would be even though everyone told me exactly what it’s like, what to expect and gave me more advice than I ever thought I would need. All I can say is enjoy the process and try not to rush through anything. However trust your gut and make decisions without second guessing yourself. You will drive yourself crazy thinking of everything you could have, should have or would have done. Just let it go and remember the big picture; you are about to marry your best friend surrounded by your closest friends and family with an amazing party to celebrate. What could be better than that?
Swoon, those florals and Jane’s hand-lettering were beautiful, weren’t they? Congratulations to the happy couple!
