It’s so much fun when we get the chance to follow our brides from engagement, to nuptials, anniversaries, to the arrival of their sweet bebes. That’s why we’re pretty excited to have Natalie + Corey on the blog for the second time. Remember their retro engagement sesh? That gave us just a little taste of their rad style. But their wedding? Wow. Everything was completely designed and handmade by Natalie and her hard-working crew of family & friends, and captured perfectly by photographer and good friend, Kierstin at Dear To My Art photography! The lace, the watercolored details, signage, florals, jewels, desserts… they’re all. so. good.

How cool is this seating chart? You might remember this inspiration by Jesi Haack from The Cream Event last year.

Instead of a guest book, friends & family were asked to leave sweet little messages on stones.

This entire dessert table was baked by Natalie’s sisters. And that whimsical backdrop (made by her sister’s boyfriend) made it look like an enchanted fairy tale.

A few bits of advice from Natalie…

1.) Spend some quality time talking with your DJ to really create a playlist/first dance songs that reflect what you want to hear at your wedding; music is a huge important part of the reception.

2.) Decide early on which features of the wedding you want to focus your budget on that need to be done by professionals and what you can do yourself to help cut costs.

3.) ENJOY being engaged! Planning a wedding should first & foremost be about living in the feeling of being overjoyed to have met someone you are head over heels in love with.  A wedding is a celebration of two people in love; it is important not to get caught up in buying a dress that is $2,000 over budget or the wrong pattern on the utensils, the wedding industry can sometimes make is easy to loose focus on what really matters! Enjoy being in love, being in a relationship is a daily commitment to making each other happy & can be one of the most rewarding experiences ever!

Don’t you just love them? Congratulations Natalie + Corey! You’ve truly left us feeling inspired by all the pretty DIY details.
