Hope you’ve enjoyed all the international weddings we’ve shared as of late (take a quick scroll down the homepage if you’ve missed ’em!). We sure love getting a peek at how couples around the world spend their nuptials. Katherine moved to Jakarta, Indonesia from the US to be closer to fam, and her guy Shawn is from Zurich, so they planned their Bali destination wedding from afar with Bali Wedding Production. With the cliffside Khayangan Estate as their venue + Iluminen there to capture these dramatic, artful photos, S + K’s minimal modern style truly shined through. Take a peek!
Not a bad place to celebrate a marriage, huh? They had 85 guests soaking up the magic of Bali with them, but kept the ceremony intimate with only eight people.Cosa Design & Décor was behind the floral design and decor, using a green + white color palette to bring out the location’s beauty.
Their adventurous love story… We were introduced by family relatives when Shawn came to Indonesia for a holiday. We didn’t have a very good start—he had lived in Zurich almost all of his life and preferred to keep it that way. I had decided to settle down in Indonesia after living in the States for many years to be close again to my family. Fast forward a year later, I really wanted to go to Raja Ampat for a scuba dive trip but couldn’t get friends to join except for Shawn. We had such a good time during that trip, the rest was history.
Love a tropical wedding with just a touch of boho, don’t you?
A few personal touches were custom gift bags with Balinese coffee beans, agate slices as named cards, and wedding advice cards and stationery from Etsy.
Not to mention, such a fun, glamorous reception!
