Say you tied the knot in Palm Springs and you’ve got our attention. Say your wedding colors were inspired by hot pink bougainvillea, and you’ve captured our hearts forever. But really—how rad is that for a modern color story? Caitlin + Jason got engaged in Greece, so the vibrant blooms there immediately inspired their style. After scrolling through all the photos from Jenny Smith & Co., it’s safe to say they successfully channeled the fun, modern vibe they were going for:

Caitlin’s sparkly gold wedding gown inspired them to choose gold as their accent color throughout. The perfect pair for hot pink, no?

On the DIY projects… Jason and his dad and uncle made our chuppah. It was important to me that Jason was able to contribute that. My sister is a professional graphic designer and we created the invitation suite, which was so much fun! I made most all the other paper goods, including the name cards, escort cards, table runners, etc. I painted tiny dogs for each person’s place setting because we are massive dog lovers, and I folded the 1,000 paper cranes for luck.

Caitlin’s advice: Don’t feel obligated to follow every tradition or listed to everyone’s opinion. It’s your wedding and you should do whatever makes you happy. We skipped a lot of traditions, and changed a lot of things up, but I’m so glad we did, because it was representative of who we are. A lot of people thought In N Out at a wedding would be weird, but I was the best decision ever!
