Lately we’ve had some incredible budget-friendly weddings pop up in our inboxes, including J + P’s backyard wedding captured by Nine Photography. Dressing up a venue just didn’t feel like the best way for them to welcome their 60 guests, and it’s one of the many ways they pulled off their big day for $11K. Julie is an aircraft interior designer (yep—she designs private aircraft interiors), which not only proves that she knows a thing or two about styling, but sounds like such a neat gig that we couldn’t not mention it. As far as all the details they put into their Texas nuptials, start scrollin’…

Julie tells it, Our wedding was an expression of our life together using our own artwork and accessories. The color of our 1920’s bungalow and of course, the backyard played a huge role on the design. Using black, rose quartz and neutrals, I was able to create an eclectic mix of colors that was natural and not overdone. The theme was a mixture of elements from sailing ships and sea shells to amethyst and turquoise to a taxidermy alligator head and bird’s nest. It don’t think it was modern or vintage. Maybe just a little bit country and a little bit rock n roll. See Julie’s Pinterest board here.
