If you’re one of the many California dwellers like Oakland-based artists Hillary + Luke who looove to jet off to Big Sur whenever possible, it comes straight to mind as far as wedding locales. And the way they + Posh+Folk adorned Ventana Inn & Spa for their nuptials couldn’t be more breathtaking.
Talk about a gorgeous place to say I Do!Crimson Horticultural Rarities right there with the dreamy florals. Posh+Folk explains, Instead of a traditional ceremony like lighting a unity candle, Hillary and Luke planted a persimmon tree together to signify the start of their lives together as husband & wife. They will replant it in the ground upon finding a home to “plant their roots”… As guests arrived, The John Brothers Piano Company played music (original + cover songs) in a speakeasy style. Following the ceremony, they continued to play fun and uplifting music as guests mingled and moved to the beat. During dinner, Bossa Nova hits from the brides’ own grandfather in Brazil offered a relaxing and beautiful sound. Later in the evening, the father-daughter dance was set to the beat of a similar song as guests circled them clapping and laughing.
One of their fave memories? Getting to take a little time to themselves post-ceremony. H + L snuck away for a few minutes before their grand entrance, where they got to enjoy a few bites from the caterer and take photos with Shannen.
Congratulations, Hillary + Luke!
