Maya + Uri did things a little differently for their NYC loft wedding. Annnd we love it. They kept it casual, yet glamorous. They ditched a seated ceremony and held it on the dance floor surrounded by a circle of guests. No wedding party. The reception was more like a lounge. The whole thing had a 20s influence and a speakeasy feel. And considering they loved the photos Amber Gress shot at the first Greenpoint Loft wedding, they snagged her for theirs!

Maya’s hand-embroidered, art deco gold tulle Naeem Khan gown encapsulates their vintage vision. Champagne coupes, a swing jazz band, and lounge vibes also played into the theme.

The perks of the venue, Greenpoint Loft:
1) The view. You can’t get a more expansive view of Manhattan
2) The feel. Although you’re in a big Greenpoint warehouse, you feel like you’re in an oversized barn
3) The informality. We wanted a space that felt casual and allowed us to create a lounge setting, rather than a seated dinner

Uri made all the coasters, invites, and chalkboard menus.

On planning, from Maya: Finding a Saturday at a venue in NYC is tough. There are so many weddings taking place here, so you truly can’t book early enough. While we didn’t have a planner throughout the process, having a month of planner made all the difference and took away all of the unnecessary stress.
Cheers to Maya + Uri!
