Kate Spade inspired wedding: Krystle + Cody
Krystle loves Kate Spade. Cody loves (and works for) Nike. A marriage is all about compromise, yeah? They combined their loves for the ultimate wedding theme they dubbed #formalwithsneakers, and all their friends got involved too. Even booking Edyta Szyszlo to capture it sent good vibes all around—their other vendors immediately jumped on board when they heard her name. Shoutout to Edyta for brightening our day with this one!
Krystle tells it, Cody said I could have the Kate Spade wedding of my dreams if and only if we could some how involve Nike. (Cody has been a ‘sneaker head’ since the day he was born (or started walking) and has been working for Nike for 2 years now.) So, after picking a theme, what’s the next most important thing in a modern day wedding? An amazing hashtag. The official theme for our wedding was #FormalwithSneakers. Most of our male guests came dressed up in their swankiest suits and tuxes wearing a pair of the flyest Nike’s. Our friends and family were just as excited as we were to get dressed up for the occasion.
How’d these bouquets turn out so fittingly, you ask? Krystle asked for “Kate Spade-y” flowers and Tango + Foxtrot delivered with peonies, anemones, and a chic striped ribbon.
Cute anecdote: K + C met in 6th grade, which is the first time she noticed this cool kid decked out in Nike. They didn’t start dating until after college, but his proposal in Italy did involve a very hard-to-get pair of sneakers that Krystle had been eyeing (and a ring, of course). Their Sonoma venue, Ramekins, offered a little nod to Italy with the vines, flowers, and Italian courtyard too.
Has sportswear ever looked so sophisticated?
YUM!
