Elegant, floral California wedding in Rancho Santa Fe
Ah, how we love a good floral ceremony arch. Gets us every time! So, our couple Diana and Jack met at a polo game and hit it off right away. They had their first date at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego, and four years later, they adorned the space with loads of flowers and an elegant, black-tie vibe (just wait till you get a peek at that Oscar de la Renta gown) that still felt relaxed for their 150 guests. A little bit about J + D, from our bride… From regular treks across the Mojave Desert to hosting our annual 1950’s Christmas party, we have developed our own unique set of traditions. Our appreciation for certain aspects of pre-digital life made us especially admire Matoli Keely‘s dedication to film photography. Our favorite activities at home are listening to records, making cocktails and spending time with our pets. Many of our best weekends are spent in the 110, camping in places like White Mountain, the Anza-Borrego Desert and beyond.
What did we tell you about this gorgeous gown?! It’s Oscar de la Renta from Marina Morrison in San Francisco.
We wanted to create a celebration that was black tie, but relaxed. It was important to have tons of flowers, which is why we chose to work with the incredible Annette Gomez. We loved working with her to create a palette of light rose pink, goldenrod, creamy white and mauve—all tied together with fresh, delicate greens and tons of gorgeous ribbons.
More petals, please!
When it came to the tables, Lauren Mandler helped them combine textures like wood, natural linen, shimmering fabrics, and unique lighting to highlight their color palette.
Not to mention, the classic wedding cake by Michele Coulon Dessertier!
Diana walked down the aisle to At Last by Etta James, and their first dance song was Tea for Two by Blossom Dearie (as performed by their band, Wayne Foster). See more from their day in our inspiration gallery!
Cheers to Diana + Jack!
