Lauren + Ben’s wedding had all the elements of an outdoor wedding without actually being outside. (We promise it’ll make sense, once you see the rest of Apryl Ann‘s photos and expansive views from the floor-to-ceiling windows!) Inspired by their venue, the Trinity River Audubon Center, these lovebirds planned their theme around the incredible location. Fun fact: After the kiss, a white egret took flight behind them—no need to release doves here!
Lauren was over the moon for her florals by Bows & Arrows… Stunning!
Balloons and tassels and confetti, oh my!
The forecast showed thunderstorms, so they moved their ceremony inside to this gorg light-filled space at the last minute. It didn’t actually start pouring until after, but it all worked out. Lauren says, It turned out to be beautiful and the sun was pouring through the windows. It really couldn’t have been any better.
On the venue: When we visited the Audubon Center, we knew we found our place. The building itself is stunning, the architecture is moving, and the grounds are beautiful. It is remote, quiet, and peaceful. And a unique Dallas gem. We looked no further.
An ice cream bar instead of cake? So fitting for this fun couple!
The bride’s favorite moment? The whole damn thing.
Congrats, you two!

This is it, guys. Last weekend of spring! And then it’s all beaches and barbecues and other summer goodness. (Can you tell we’re a little excited?) To get you in the mood too, we’re sharing a very beachy engagement shoot from Yuna Leonard. It’s got incredible lighting, rich film texture, and not one, not two, but three cute pups (eeek!).
Yuna Leonard says, Adrienne and J wanted to do something very casual and personal for their engagement session. So we just picked a warm Sunday afternoon and documented their regular Sunday activities: taking three puppies for a nice walk in the neighborhood. A very laidback and SoCal way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Sunsets and Ferris wheels… This is the life, friends.
Summer here we come…

It seems that a setting as stunning as Antelope Island State Park in Utah can’t get more beautiful, but this dreamy shoot proves otherwise. Designer Martha Hatfield pulled from the unique backdrop to create a breathtaking scene for any outdoor setting. The whole thing was captured by photographer Claire Marika.
A delicate DIY wire crown is accessory enough for this ethereal setting…
But of course, a shimmering nature-inspired ring doesn’t hurt either!
Tips for creating a similar bridal look, c/o Martha: Opt for a gown that has an ethereal quality to it to add to the understated elegance of the day. Be sure to work closely with your hair and makeup artist to create a soft look that complements the gown you’ve selected. The final touch? An elegant wire and bead crown that can be crafted in the days leading up to your wedding day.
Martha, on complementing nature: A sophisticated palette of soft neutrals allows for the natural beauty of the blossoms in any arrangement to shine. Wood chairs pair nicely with the neutral color palette and can echo the tones found in your outdoor location. A simple announcement suite, complete with deckled edges, can set the tone of the event for your guests while feeling cohesive with the location, tablescape and overall aesthetic of the day.
No shortage of understated elegance here.
What a lovely shoot!
