Bright and bold Evergreen Brick Works wedding in Toronto

Colorful mismatched bridesmaids

To our industry pals planning + photographing colorful weddings, keep ’em coming, kay? Continuing the theme of all things bright and bold (as sparked by yesterday’s orange + yellow wedding), Ashley + Neil’s nuptials include one of our very fave new wedding trends: the bridesmaid dresses! When it came to fashion, these two were as laidback as it gets: ditch the coordinated hues and just ask friends to rock a pop of color. You won’t believe how perfectly it went with the rest of their design!

Thanks to Erin Leydon and Jess of Love by Lynzie Events + Design for sharing…

Ashley tells it, We really wanted our day to be bright, happy and fun! That’s why we strayed from the traditional blush and white palette and used as many bright, bold colors as possible. We also tried to incorporate different patterns and textures into the overall design to give it a playful and unique feel.

Soooo cute, right? Their loose color palette was blush, marigold, red, teal, and blue.

We started with an understanding that our venue had to meet three key requirements: located in Toronto to ensure our older family members could be part of our special day; have a capacity of over 250 (including a sizable dance floor); and include some outside/natural elements as our wedding was in the warm, sunny month of June. Luckily Evergreen Brick Works, one of our already favorite venues in the City, incorporated all of these elements beautifully.

In terms of religious traditions, we had a reform Jewish ceremony performed by a Rabbi and we incorporated a Mezinka into the evening as we were both of our parents last children to get married. We also had two very big, very fun horas that were definite highlights of the night.
