Stylish tropical wedding at Flora Farms in Cabo

Morning, Cakies! If you can’t already tell from this first image Ana and Jerome sent over, Michele + Matt are one stylish couple. They fell in love with Flora Farms on a last minute trip to Mexico (more on that later!), and nothing sounded better than saying I Do with 38 of their best friends + fam at such a magical place. See how they pulled it off (and get inspired by the aforementioned incredible style!) with the help of Amy Abbott Events, below:

Super bright bridal bouquet

Gah, these flowers! So vibrant. Pina Cate Designs gets us every time. Speaking of, Michele scrolled through just about every Cabo + tropical wedding on our site while planning, and found lots of great ideas that way. (Thanks, M!)

Michele says, Matt and I desired a small wedding comprised of best friends and family that knew us well as a couple (and liked to dance). Since we were paying for the wedding ourselves, we didn’t want to spread our budget too thin. We prioritized three items when chartering our plan:

1. Travel. Destination to a warm, tropical place convenient to our guests
2. Food. We love farm-to-table restaurants
3. Party. It’s the only moment everyone you love comes together, and dances

We wanted our guests to be on “vacation mode”. We planned our wedding like a weekend getaway, eating, drinking, and dancing with all our people.

Pretty much everything was inspired by, and sourced from, the farms themselves, just like they wanted.

We became enamored by Flora Farms on a last-minute weekend getaway. Everything was grown within feet of reaching our table. After a few mason jars of freshly squeezed juice cocktails, we were dancing to the lull of a live band playing classics from the ‘70’s and falling more in love than we knew possible. That band played at our wedding (and the lead singer officiated!)

Truly, the venue chose us. The restaurant overflows with low-key vintage, flea-market charm. The Farm is a curated yet bohemian oasis serving the best fried chicken we’d ever tasted. When the venue inspires without an ounce of planning or décor, there’s less stress in planning the pomp and circumstance. We had no doubt our guests would be as floored by the Farm as we were that night, no matter how fabulous the centerpieces.

Vacation mode, check!

Two tropical wedding ensembles for the books, right here! Michele’s floral Parker dress was originally a floor length gown that she altered to have more of a fun, destination wedding feel. SO good!

Our bride’s top wedding planning tips…
1. Choose a venue that looks good without an ounce of work. Pick somewhere that feels like it encompasses the spirit of you and your significant other and you’ll feel right at home on your wedding day.
2. Stay strong if you want a small wedding. If we had invited all the people we knew “should be” invited, we quickly would have had 300+ attendees and not nearly the budget to be authentic about our design and execution choices that truly made it perfect, for us.
3. Don’t cut budget on photography, and throw in the extra dollars for videography–you’ll never remember it all! We interviewed several photographers, but felt Ana + Jerome got “us”. Check out all their Instagrams and pick the one you want to be tagged in.

Cheers, you two! See more of their wedding style on Pinterest.
