Intimate 29 Palms desert wedding
Time spent engaged: 3 years; time spent planning: 3 months. Yep. See, when G + A got engaged in 2011, planning a 100-person wedding with guests from different states, on budget, with a location that repped them perfectly got quite stressful—even when they visited Joshua Tree and fell in love with 29 Palms Inn.
Fast forward to 2014, content with life in San Diego, when Geneva’s dad planned a trip from GA to CA. Since he can’t fly due to a medical condition, the timing was right to have the wedding then. Luckily photog Jamie of Rad + In Love was available and ended up being such a perfect fit that everyone thought she was an old family friend!
Remember this pic we previewed on Insta?! Their pup, Loki, is too cute for words.
Geneva says, I was originally planning to have the ceremony onsite at 29 Palms Inn, but my mom and sister convinced me that we should have it in the park, and I am so glad they did! The guests rode together to Indian Cove Amphitheater on an old (and booze filled) school bus. The amphitheater was so incredibly beautiful; it felt really magical to be there and made our ceremony so meaningful.
Andy’s fave moment was being lifted up on chairs during the Hora dance, while Geneva’s was when one of their flower girls, Clementine, chose to walk down the aisle with Andy. When it was G’s turn to say “I do”, Clementine yelled “I do!” before she got a chance! Presh.
One of each dress, please.
The bride’s sis hit up grocery stores for wild-looking flowers and Geneva, her ‘maids, and the moms, had a flower arranging party. They had a blast and it was a huge money saver, allowing them to do the whole wedding for $10,000.
A few of the helpers our bride + groom raved about…
Bridesmaid Kitty Reese (paper pieces)
Geneva’s sister (floral + table design)
Andy’s mom (dreamcatchers)
Geneva’s parents (crystals)
Friend Jeff (Officiant)
Andy’s brother (lighting)
Geneva’s friends (decorating)
Congratulations on finally tying the knot… It sounds like there couldn’t have been a more perfect time!
