Carondelet House wedding: Shawna + Thomas
A wedding that just oozes 1920s glamour? Yes, please. Shawna + Thomas’ vintage wedding in the historic Los Angeles Carondelet House was elegant and intimate. And from the looks of it—hanging roses, frames thrifted by Shawna’s sister, and invites made of vintage wallpaper and stamps—it was an absolute dream. Hats off to Yuna Leonard for the vintage-style photos that captured their aesthetic spot on.
Thomas’ mother and sister were unable to attend, so guests held up iPads for them to watch the entire ceremony via Skype… Cue the tears.
On the venue: We loved that there was this hidden 1920s style gem in the middle of the city and it tied in perfectly with our vintage-style theme. It is done up so well and there’s no need to really bring in any other decor.
Shawna says, A lot of inspiration actually came from my engagement ring… It had a very long journey overseas and was nearly lost in transit. It was shipped from Australia to Los Angeles, traveled to Colombia, South America, before it was placed on my finger in New Orleans, Louisiana. It belonged to Thomas’ great grandmother, a family heirloom that dates back to 1919. I even fell madly in love with my wedding shoes because it matched the blue sapphires of the engagement ring.
The Little Branch arranged the florals within antique cigar boxes for centerpieces.
On their intimate wedding: We managed to have a guest list of under 70 people. We were so happy that we did! It just made our day feel extremely special with very close family and friends in attendance. We were actually able to spend time talking to everyone.
Congrats to the happy couple!
