San Ysidro Ranch wedding

Welcome back, Cakelets! We think starting September off with an elegant and small 15 guest family wedding by Braedon Flynn and a special giveaway (later today), sounds perfect, yes? With breathtaking gardens for an intimate ceremony and gorgeous portraits, and a stonehouse dining room, we totally get why Michelle + Andy fell in love with San Ysidro Ranch… and why they plan on going back every year for their anniversary. Side note: we love that idea of going back and staying at the place you got married at!

My favorite part of our wedding was that is was small. I could really enjoy the day and not be pulled in different directions. I was so relaxed and felt like I was on vacation! I loved being able to spend the morning of the wedding with my sister, nieces, Mom and Grandma getting ready. That was such a special time to share with them. San Ysidro Ranch was also one of the best decisions we made. It’s gorgeous and so us.

I love being crafty and having a small wedding let me do some things myself without getting overwhelemed. I made my niece Madeline’s pomander ball to carry down the aisle with rose petals sachets and tags.

San Ysidro Ranch is already so beautiful, I didn’t want to do too much and take away from the gorgeous surroundings. I wanted to keep the wedding elegant but nothing fussy. I tend to go for classic decor, so I had a lot of white florals, with rosemary and lavender to mimic the gardens at the ranch, chandeliers and lots of candles.

  1. I love all the white but especially love the chandeliers hanging in the tree. Gorgeous!

  2. Stunning venue, love all the detail, cake, flowers and those burlap pillows!

  3. The pomander is so pretty!

  4. the flowergirls dress is ADORABLE – where did you find it? love the initial on the belt!

  5. My friends and I actually purchased our wedding cake stands from a woman who makes beautiful cake stands with removable cake skirts. Seems that most bakers only provide those boring looking plain cake rounds to display your cake…why spend so much money on a gorgeous cake to just put it on a dull piece of cardboard? You can buy the stand kit I think it’s called and it comes with a stand, a cake skirt and matching flower and ribbon for only $65!!! She has a good selection of fabric skirts and crystal ones too. The best thing about this cake stand is you can change the skirt over and over to match every event! This is the stand I purchased. Check her out on cakedress.com!

  6. The San Ysido Ranch was a perfect place for your wedding. The settings were simply
spectacular. The shots that captured the scenery and the lovely flower arrangements
that were displayed on the dinning room table were artfully layed out. Very beautifully
    done.
