Brooke is a lady with an obsession for black, white, pink and gold. Kinda sounds like us! Interiors, fashion, florals – she just can’t get enough. That’s why they became the central colors in her wedding. Working those colors in with other poppy bright colors (oranges, reds and corals), she wanted to make sure the rest of the design balanced vintage, modern and glam elements to create an unforgettable look. She rocked it (and that Jenny Packham dress!).

Great b & w chevron liners & rsvp cards by Smock Paper.

Brooke used some of the graphical elements from their invitations to design the rest of their paper goods, including that rad large program poster.

I walked down the aisle to Bright Eyes’ “First Day of My Life”. During the ceremony, my 2 sisters and a really close family friend, Rachael Miles, sang Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up”. It was one of my favorite parts of the whole day!

Had to show a close up of those nails! We see a mani happening with that design in our near future.

As for the bridal party, I let all of the bridesmaids choose their own dresses with the only “rule” being that their dresses were some shade of red, pink, coral or orange. I wanted everyone to be comfortable and LOVE their dress (and hopefully wear it more than once!).

The types of flowers used and styles of arrangements actually wound up being a surprise. A family friend acted as our florist, and I basically let him know the color palette and a few of my favorites and he went to town! Their were a mix of peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, tulips, hydrangeas, bougainvilleas, proteas, roses everywhere!

Great advice from Brooke:
Even if you do all of the wedding planning yourself (which I did), I would HIGHLY recommend a day-of coordinator. They were able to handle countless last-minute questions and minor emergencies (a few sprinkles of rain and a LOT of wind in my case!), allowing me to relax and enjoy the day. Also, pick a great photographer that you can have fun with. If you think about it, you probably spend as much time with your photographer on your wedding day as with your husband and more time than with your family and friends! Lucky for us, Heidi not only took gorgeous photos but we spent all day laughing. She was the best!
Congrats Brooke + James! May your many years be filled with lots of pink, black, white, and gold!

So many divine details. I adore the colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses.
Uau! Bravo… it’s all that I can say!
And that dress…. is something! No words to describe it, honestly!
A very beautiful wedding. I love all the colors that the bride incorporated. I am not a big fan of fuchsia pink but in this case it really works. The bride looked gorgeous. The unique Jenny Packham dress really suited her body type and the theme of the wedding. I also really appreciated the fact that the bridesmaid’s dresses are so mismatched. A LOT of the time when someone decides to mismatch the bridesmaid’s dresses it really doesn’t work. However, making sure they stick to the same shades and/or colors still brings the dresses together and makes them more uniform. The ceremony area was amazing. Since the area is already so beautiful they really didn’t need a lot of decor which is also a budget friendly move.
All in all a very cute wedding for a very cute couple. Kudos to the vendors and Heidi for the photos, she really captured a lot of great moments and of course 100layercake for the post!
