Outdoor Texas wedding: Laura + Eric

Categories   Real Weddings

The flowers in Laura + Eric’s wedding are making us want to run out to the Flower District asap! They’re just the type of arrangements that make a pretty first impression when guests take to their tables. That’s not all we’re swooning over. There’s also Laura’s DIY, everything! From gold burlap runners to her altar made of IKEA shelves. With a relatively tight budget of 20k and 100 guests, L + E’s sunday brunch wedding is truly inspirational. And, how cute is this sign?!

Laura on their gorgeous invitation suite: I designed our invitations and took them to a local printer, Corinna Beau, to have them letterpressed & digitally printed. I had the idea to use a Michelle Armas painting as a backer because I was absolutely smitten with her work (and I wanted our invitation to be something that our guests could use as a small print in their homes later on). Michelle was so sweet to allow me to use one of her paintings, and we’re planning on commissioning a piece from her soon to commemorate our special day! To save on costs, I had just the main invite letterpressed and everything else was digitally printed. I also combined our information and RSVP card into one piece of paper, which I perforated and had guests tear off and return.

Balloons just aren’t going out of style. Especially gold ones.

This idea of adding quotes to your centerpieces is so clever, and adds a little conversation to the table. Too cute!

Is that a white striped burlap runner? It looks gold. STUNNING! FYI, we’ll be selling gold & white stripped paper in our pop-up shop the week of May 22nd. Just incase you’re looking for a good source, wink wink! Also diggin’ those gold napkins. Don’t think we see many of those beauties around.

Laura kept costs down by opting to book their venue for a Sunday brunch instead of a Saturday evening and brought in the help of friends and family to make it a total DIY wedding. Where she did splurge was on on their photographer. “I don’t regret it for a second. Ryan Ray is immensely talented and he captured our day in a way no one else could have. I know everyone says this, but don’t skimp on your photographer!”

And because we all love to see how brides curate their wedding Pinterest boards, make sure to check out Laura’s board here, and her lifestyle blog, here.

Congratulations Laura + Eric!

Does anyone know where to get the letter balloons? I've seen them floating around on the Internets this week but haven't been able to track down a source. Thanks!

Ryan Ray is amazing!!!! This wedding was adorably detailed, I love it!!

Absolutely gorgeous wedding! Love it all. However, $20,000 is not a tight budget at all! That's a pretty generous budget for only 100 people in my opinion. Everything they did with that 20k is amazing though! :)

Simply Peachy on May 14, 2012

Loving all the details in this wedding! How amazing is it that the bride DIY'd everything! Absolutely in love with the use of all those romantic sayings! "You complete me".. swoon!

Wow amazing details!

gorgeous bouquet - and i love the balloons and flower box centerpieces. however - i have to echo the earlier comment. "a relatively tight budget of 20k and 100 guests" seems a bit out of touch with reality to me.

I love love love the "LOVE" balloons! (It's not bad that my comment is filled with a lot of the L-word, right??) :)

Where can I get those balloons?!

Mandy |Small Fine Print| on Jul 3, 2012

Gorgeous!!!!!!!!! Sometimes I wish I could go back and redo my wedding to put more thought into it. All I cared about was that it was happening, not what it looked like. I absolutely love that framed quote they are holding! "I have always known it was you"... is it from something? I just simple had to have it next to our wedding photos. Take a look: http://smallfineprint.com/i-have-always-known-it-was-you-vinyl/

Can you tell me where to find those table runners? I am looking for something identical for my wedding! Also, to those who think $20K is not a tight budget, it absolutely is! Try planning a wedding for 100 and you will see...
