Charming vintage Alabama wedding: Anna Beth + Pat
Nothing too frilly or too rustic – just a laid back memorable and enjoyable day for family and friends with just the right amount of vintage charm. That’s how Anna Beth + Pat wanted their big day to play out. Just outside of their town in Alabama, these two began the first day of the rest of their lives among the beautiful grounds, old antebellum home and courtyard of Keisel Park in Auburn. With a venue like this the photo possibilities were endless! There to capture it all was the lovely & talented Heather Hester.
Anna Beth found her gown online, and without even having tried it on or seeing it in person, she put in the order, picked it up and just like that it fit like a glove! If we could all be so lucky, right?
Helping to keep costs low and decor minimal, they purchased vases, bottles, and the antique mantle that served as their alter at thrift stores.
Anna Beth combined gorgeous antique brooches from flea markets and family members to create her bouquet.
Another money saver: Ordering all of the fresh flowers from a local flower wholesaler and arranging them themselves & using “loaned” flowers from a friend who owns a nursery. Some of the potted plants and ferns that were used as decor were purchased and given to family and wedding party as gifts.
Most of the decor were heirlooms borrowed from family and friends (everything from the lace table runners to the milk glass cake stands and vintage suitcases). Anna Beth’s aunt made their cake (strawberry, for all you sweet toothers out there). The other cakes in the brides room were made by her aunts, Pat’s grandmother, and her grandmother.
We’re dying over the lighting in the above image of their first dance. The new Mr. and Mrs. stole everyone’s heart by dancing to “First Day of My Life” by Bright eyes.
