We’re so honored to share Stella & Ming’s intimate, dream-like wedding today. There’s something truly special about a desert wedding – the stillness, sandy hues, endless sky. When we got to chatting with Stella about her dreamy wedding and found out that she described herself as the anti-bride at the beginning of her planning, we would have never believed it. It’s rare to find a bride that’s so low-stress and trusts that things will just fall into place, but it all did, perfectly.

Staying true to the stress-free feeling of the wedding, Stella chose to stay natural with hair & makeup. She did want to point out that she dabbed a bit of Tarte’s Blushing Bride Cheek Stain for a hint of color though (thanks for the tip!). There was no entourage here – just the help of owners Steve & Scott with event planner Holly (who made the wreath headpiece you’ll see Stella wearing after the ceremony). Stella paired her J.Crew dress with a veil made by her mother, earrings made by herself, and a half-circlet hairpiece of paper orange blossoms made by Jude Miller.

Officiated by her mother, the ceremony began with Stella walking down the sandy aisle with her father to Figaro’s Wedding March.

Stella describes why they chose Joshua Tree as their location: “There is just something magical about the desert – the sense of loneliness evoked by the strange rocks and trees and wildflowers growing out of a seemingly barren field feels very romantic to me”.

This wedding clearly felt like a dream and hope it reminds you that sometimes a desert landscape and your husband-to-be can be all the romance you need. Congrats Stella & Ming!

LOVE this wedding so beautiful!
So beautiful! Everything looks incredible!
What a darling, refreshingly understated but entirely elegant and original wedding. Scott and Steve are two of the most wonderful, creative, helpful, and professional people I’ve ever met; I know them well and just wish I’d known about Joshua Tree (and Sacred Sands) before our wedding! Congrats to the beautiful bride and her adorable groom- many happy years of adventuring await you two.

I love the style of these photos!
Very romantic, in that bare way only a desert can evoke. Lovely lovely! The landscape takes me back to the early 1980′s when I lived near Joshua Tree Nat’l Park (29 Palms). Thank you for sweet reminders of old memories.
I love these photos!

So ethereal and wistful – a pretty, soft and inspired wedding indeed.
This is the loveliest wedding I’ve ever seen on your site. Tiny, posh but simple and perfect.
