Bright and colorful Georgia wedding: Laura + Ben

July 8, 2010

For Georgia couple Laura and Ben, hosting your average Southern springtime wedding wasn’t going to fly. After coming across a single piece of inspiration early on (a butterfly hairpiece, more on that in a minute), Laura had the grand vision for her big day:  a casual, garden party wedding packed with warmth and romance.  Her friends and family rallied around her ideas and helped her create a stylish, graceful party full of antiques and ribbons and other pretty details we all love.

Let’s start with a most fairytale-esque element…. piles of cascading ribbons. So dreamy.  Don’t you just want to run through it?

Her butterfly hairpiece was the inspiration for the entire look of the wedding, a detail the very talented Amy Osaba was able to work into the centerpieces and other flower arrangements.

Laura was so in love with her bouquet, she cried when coming home from her honeymoon to find that it had died. Coral peonies can do that to a girl.

RIbbons and willow trees, such an amazing ceremony set up!

Antique touches were an obvious choice for the bride, who adores thrifting and visiting antique shops.  The shutters, found in a local antique market and distressed by the bride and her friends, were a perfect home for escort cards. Seriously, such a cute idea Laura!

The bride and her mother collected white hobnail milk glass vases during the year of planning.  What an ideal companion for the colorful blooms that added a big pop to the otherwise simple tables.  And as a bonus the collection of vases will always remind them of their wedding day.

Laura and Ben used an antique ice box as a perfect spot for guests to drop off well-wishes and cards for the newlyweds. How amazing are those pitchers for holding sparklers? Incredible find.

We always love a good sparkler send off. Nothing makes for better photos, right?

Congratulations you two! Your wedding was gorgeous and romantic and yummy and hopefully everything you hoped it would be. We’re so excited to be able to share it.
