San Francisco City Hall wedding: Cori + E.B

Categories   Real Weddings

Cori and E.B. planned a classic city wedding at San Francisco’s City Hall. We do love a good city hall wedding, San Francisco in particular. They’re city people who love architecture, signage, hotels, bridges, and brick. They live in LA, but retreat to SF for weekend getaways which gives them a sweet romantic attachment to the city. And it is a beautiful city… perfect for a modern, vintage-inspired wedding.

Cori and EB area both graphic designers so of course they made their invites themselves.

For favors, they gave guests (along with a goody bag stacked with quintessential SF treats) vintage SF postcards from the forties packaged in glassine bags. The best part was reading correspondence the original recipients had read about a friend’s trip to SF way back then.

After their intimate ceremony at City Hall, the wedding party hopped on a classic cable car (tour guide included!) and headed to the historic Tadich Grill for toasts and lunch.

Where EB surprised Cori with a vintage rolex on a plate of oysters. Cute wedding pressie!

They they headed to Crissy field for some outdoor photos with the bridge in the background, and then onto the Mission for more photo ops. Since their whole wedding party (guests included) was 10 people, they had plenty of time to talk and enjoy the day with everyone.

Finally, they finished the evening with a big meal at RN74.

What a fun and memorable way to spend your wedding day…touring the city you love with your closest family and friends.

Thanks so much for sharing, Cori and EB!

I like the photography samples here. Having a small wedding party really gives time to make the most of wedding photography. My point often overlooked by couples is - make sure you make and plan dedicated portrait time with your photographer .

100layercake on Feb 8, 2010

Hi Kelly (and everyone who's asked about the shoes)- The shoes are actually vintage and the groom's ring was made by James Elliot: Hope this helps!

erin on Feb 8, 2010

I'm dying to know where they found the vintage post cards?! I'm trying to do the same thing for my wedding but need ones from to/from Mexico!

Cori on Feb 8, 2010

Hi Everyone! Thank you for the lovely comments! You are all so sweet. I will try to answer a few of the questions. The grooms outfit was a combo of Lanvin and Robert Geller. The grooms wedding ring is by James Elliot, but the vintage ring pictured is from ebay or ruby lane online (I can't remember where i found it as it was a birthday or valentine's gift i gave him years ago... it is very old). For Erin, post card advice to follow.... I did not need a lot of cards since we only had 10 guests (i gave each guest 3 or 4). so i was able to track down enough for everyone using ebay. Also looking for post card books will help, as they usually have like 20 cards in them. An alternative idea is to buy a few favorite vintage cards, then have them scanned and printed as new "vintage inspired" post cards. This will also give you an opportunity to put the wedding date or a little note on the back. Also your guests can actually use or save these newly printed cards. A great online resource for affordable post cards is ( they are very environmental - be sure to use matte stock as gloss will look too new.). Hope this helps! Lots of Love to all of you! ~Cori

I think it's very important to point out that the groom is wearing Robert Geller! He's my Fiances fav designer. :)

This is more good. I would appreciate your efforts you made here. Great website and wonderful content.

Cori on May 14, 2013

Wow its been so long since i read this post. Answers to some of the questions: The lock and key heart charms were all purchased on ebay or etsy. Most were vintage. The vintage materials for the boutonniere and bouquet were purchased on etsy and ebay. The feathers, ribbon and silk flowers are from The headpiece is from etsy. The invites, i did myself as I am a graphic designer - however the embossing was done at paper source. Thx for all the praise - much appreciated! xx Cori
