Modern DIY ultra violet wedding inspiration
Happy hump day, friends! This morning we’re feeling inspired by the bold colors and chic modern vibe of this Pantone ultra violet wedding editorial that Absolutely IN! Events dreamt up with Mike Cassimatis behind the lens. It’s even got a few surprisingly simple DIY ideas woven in throughout.
PS: If you’re planning a winter wedding, you’re in luck: one of the main goals of this shoot was to portray winter in a new and refreshing way.
Livia Paul Paper and Design Studio brought the entire purple wedding design together with a simple, watercolor-infused invitation suite. All of the details here were also incorporated throughout the other details, like the cake, tabletop, and bar cart.
The team tells it, The juxtaposition of wood with stone, smooth velvet with shiny, bright gold and even the organic veining of marble with modern black lines and shapes—all of these contrasting elements keep things interesting and helps to retain the guests’ attention so that they too keep noticing the detail that our clients work so hard to plan. This wedding is unlike any you’ve ever attended—and that’s what we love about it! Different yet approachable, this design is an inspirational one; a bride and groom can look at this concept and easily make it their own. It is DOABLE!
Can’t celebrate winter without a festive red + green cocktail, right?
On the DIY details… Ask your vendors about creative ways they can work together to create breathtaking installs. Our team collaborated on the hanging floral installation, the monogrammed backdrop and the table itself. Our stationer designed a marble decal scaled to fit this eight-foot mod table. The decal was then carefully applied to the table top to make it look like real Carrera marble! To the touch one can feel that it is not actual stone, but the look is elegant and clean.
The table numbers were another DIY idea with slate tiles, house numbers and a little glue from the hardware store. Clever!
