Modern Palm Springs wedding: Sarah + Drew

We love Palm Springs weddings, and the fact that this is DIY (though you’d never know it) is such a bonus. With Sarah being a graphic designer, her sister in design, and her mom having their aesthetic down too, they opted out of hiring a coordinator. Creating their own chuppah, signage, favors, and decor actually made it easier to nail the modern Moroccan theme that M. K. Sadler captured just beautifully, as you could assume!

We liked the idea of bold graphic black and white design mixed with dark green palm leaves and hints of metallic. Our ceremony and reception was held at Greta Garbo’s desert vacation home from the 1920s. We wanted to respect the Spanish and Moroccan architecture with the theme. We loved the classic yet modern feel of our wedding.

Side note: Their wedding website is still up + full of sweet stories a la the groom.

Modern Palm Springs wedding ceremony

Right before it all began, Sarah even snagged a moment to take it all in, which she majorly advises all brides do (srsly brides-to-be, heed that advice!) She says, Right before you walk down the aisle, slow down, stop, breathe, take everything in. All the faces, the scenery, and especially the groom! You will want that mental image to last forever. The ceremony was so emotional when they read their vows, that not even the groomsmen could keep it together. So presh.

And a few words on finding their photog, M. K. SadlerWe were searching for a long time and everything started looking the same. Then we came across Meghan. Her style stood out immediately. We loved the mood, movement, and artistic expression she was able to capture. We didn’t want traditional portraiture. Meghan’s style fulfilled everything we desired in our lasting photographic memories of our engagement and our wedding day.
