Colorful California wedding: Kristen + Josh
These invites just scream California cool, don’t they? That’s how Bash Please described Kristen + Josh’s colorful 250 guest Irvine wedding when they sent these shots by Jennifer Emerling our way. K + J (founders of the nonprofit 9 Dots) didn’t have a particular theme in mind, but they knew they didn’t want to stress over the planning or the wedding. They cut out traditions that didn’t make sense for them (and are known to get stressful if you let them)—no bridal party, no seating assignments, online RSVPS, meticulous DIYs, etc. That way, they could sit back, relax, and enjoy everything their rad team of vendors put together for their big day.
Is Kristen’s Reem Acra gown not the most stunning thing ever?
Eek! Honey and Poppies strikes again with florals after our own hearts.
Kristen’s vision: bright, happy colors, leaving out anything that felt too stuffy. Josh’s must-have: food trucks. It all just fell into place from there, and the Bash Please team wowed with a bunch of custom décor to fit their laidback vibes.
Will not be able to get this chuppah out of our heads for days…
Kristen says, The 1st dance was to Pharrell’s “Happy” with a small portion of choreographed silliness.

Final words from our bride…
Every moment is super memorable for us, from getting ready to the dance party at the end. The ceremony was really special. We had my little sister and Josh’s little brother officiate and Josh and I wrote our own vows. Our siblings walked our little dog, Tio, down the aisle and Tio sat up at the front during the ceremony. Even though we had almost 250 guests, the ceremony was so fun and intimate, we’ll never forget it!
