In the past year there’s been a lot more to love about LA. The sense of community could not be stronger. And this rad Thai & Korean Street Fair Party, hosted, designed, and catered by Heirloom LA, that was open to the public, pretty much proves it. Even the NY Times took notice! So while this isn’t a wedding, we’re all about finding any reason to celebrate good food, drinks and friends (which is basically what most weddings are anyways, right?).

Why this theme? Well, you know Angie + Ted from Poketo? They were the special guests of the night, holding a little “pop-up” in The Salon as guests entered to get to the back garden where the party took place. And since Angie is Korean and Ted is Thai, they designed the event around their backgrounds.

So good, right? We kind of wish they’d host parties every weekend! Here’s a bit more deets about the event from Heirloom LA…

This event was open to the public for a pre-purchase ticket as all of our collaborations are, see invite here. We used their logo’s color palette to inform our design and picked Thai and Korean as themes because Angie is Korean and Ted is Thai (Angie and Ted own Poketo).  Of course we had a Smilebooth (with an ah-mazing backdrop designed by Smog Design, they also designed our menus) but also we hosted the debut feature of a company here called Flipbooth!  It was a huge hit, check it out under the hash tag #poketointhesalon on Instagram. Guests played ping pong, watched the Thai movie Citizen Dog on bleachers and danced the night away! Many wrote us the next day saying it was “the party of the year”. We all had such a blast. Naturally this party was very food intensive. There were four action stations of our take on traditional Thai and Korean Street Fare and we also served two different delicious Soju cocktails that were served in plastic bags (this is common in Thailand). Guests played ping pong, watched the Thai movie Citizen Dog on bleachers and danced the night away!
