New Mexico Cakies, have you been to the City of Rocks State Park near Silver City? It may be a bit unconventional, but turns out, it’s a most romantic spot for setting up an elegant, bohemian wedding ceremony + intimate tablescape outdoors. Thanks to Trisha Shelley Photography and Marquette Mower for proving it with this desert wedding inspiration!

Succulent bouquets just keep getting better, huh? Props to Flowers by Ashlee on this one.

Trisha tells it, The inspiration for this shoot stems from a locally beloved rock formation that can be seen from any point in Silver City called The Kneeling Nun—from a distance it looks as if someone is praying at the base of a mountain. The colors for this shoot were inspired by this landmark (soft purples, pinks, dusty blues, creams) and the copper accents are in tribute to the copper mines that provide for the livelihood of many living in Silver City.

These calligraphed escort cards are glass lockets that double as favors. Guests could take home ribbon or floral bits from the day to go with it. Sweet idea!

The decision to add in glass geometrics as the main highlight of this shoot was simple. The definitive angles of the geometric terrariums and perfectly symmetrical circles in the table settings in contrast with the rough and imperfect shapes of the surrounding rock formations creates a beautiful balance of modern mixed with the beautiful natural beauty of the earth. In addition, the transparent glass creates a beautiful clean, open, and modern look to the table settings.

Fun fact about this whole editorial: styled shoots are super uncommon for this area of New Mexico. So Trisha + the team made sure to include lots of local vendors that hadn’t participated in a shoot like this before. Be sure to check out everyone involved in credits below!
