Morning guys! This anniversary shoot (which doubles as perfect engagement sesh inspiration if you ask us) by Emily Blake Photography features three of our very fave things: Venice, CA (hello!), a well designed space, and of course a lovely couple. Yohan + Emily met in NYC and fell in love in the South of France while visiting Y’s hometown. They eloped in Paris and have now made their home in Venice Beach with a few feathered and furry friends:

They both love animals so they wanted to try their hand at owning chickens. Now they’ve got five chickens, two bunnies with more on the way, and two kitties too!

Farm life suits them nicely, don’t you think?

Their story, via Emily… My husband and I moved from Paris a year ago and from the beginning we were really drawn to the modern architecture and vegetation in California, especially all of the different styles of homes in our neighborhood of Venice. When we found this 100-year-old craftsman home we wanted to do as much as we could to incorporate a modern feel into the old bones and to reflect our European lifestyle (my husband is from the south of France). We are both designers in our own right, so we carefully planned out and decorated the space ourselves focusing on maintaining the original history of the home and adding our organic modern touch. Everything in the home is thrifted, from flea markets or estate sales.

Ah, home, fashion, and photography inspiration all in one. Thanks to Emily Blake Photography and Y + E for sharing!
