First up, gather your materials.. 1. gold spray paint. I used Rust-oleum Specialty Metallic. 2. double stick tape (just a smidge) and your envelopes. Mine were from Paper Source (I think they discontinued the blush color I used though). The texture and weight of these envelopes were nice and made it quite easy to spray with a clean edge, and pop the top envelope mask off while not ripping the bottom one.
So really, this is pretty simple. You grab an envelope to use as the mask, and just put a small piece of tape at the point and at each side of the envelope underneath. Just enough to secure the mask so when sprayed, the edge stays put. You can make the edge as wide or short as you want.
In a well-ventilated area (like outside), spray a light coating over the edge (I had rubber gloves on when I sprayed them). Let it dry for just 20 seconds or so.
Then carefully peel the mask off and voila! a perfect glowing, gold edge!
When you see how beautiful it turns out, you’ll want to do it to every envelope you send.
I can’t wait to show you the rest of our invitations!
