One of the final destinations on our Italian tour were the little towns on the Amalfi Coast! Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii were on our list. Each had their very own different feel..Ravello was like heaven…a tiny town situated way up high near the sky, with unbelievable views everywhere we went. It also helps that our hotel, Palazzo Sasso, was the absolute perfect spot to start our Ravello experience. Below are some photos taken at the hotel (and the bottom left photo is from Rufolo Gardens, right down the street). We had the BEST service at Palazzo Sasso, the food and drink were outstanding (although a little pricey so we limited ourselves), and the pool area was something out of a dream. Honeymooners…this is your hotel!
Ravello is a romantic town with a very cute square, some shopping and a handful of great restaurants (including Cumpa Cosimo, on Katie’s recommendation, where we went for 3 dinners) as well as some VERY breathtaking views at the gardens. Also, make sure to sip some limoncello…it is made there. And Villa Cimbrone is a MUST!
We had been hearing about Positano for quite some time, so it was fun finally seeing the pastel stacked buildings and the quaint town in person. It was a bit gray when we were there, but no less stunning.
I found a little sandal shop, Nana Positano, where they craft the most beautiful sandals.. and for only 30 euro! I watched as the artisan constructed and chiseled my new cuties. We finished off the day with dinner way, WAY up in the mountains at Il Ritrovo.
For our last 2 days on the coast, we stayed in Sorrento and took a day trip to Capri. Sooo glad we did! The speed ferry threw my stomach for a loop, but once we got there the gorgeousness made it all better. I’d recommend spending a majority of your time in Anacapri, a cute little area up the hill a ways. The town of Capri is pretty but quite touristy.
Taking the chairlift up to the top of Mount Solero was one of the most amazing things we did on the whole trip. The views of the water and rock formations of Faraglioni.. ahhh! And the blue color in the photo below was not enhanced.. it is really this blue! We’re kind of sad we didn’t make it down to the Blue Grotto though.. but there is always next time!
Please, please make a trip to the Amalfi Coast on your honeymoon…it is truly a stunning place. You will thank me later!
