Winter wedding: Taylor + Zakari
Remember yesterday when we raved about all the totally stunning budget weddings we’ve seen as of late? Add T + Z’s to the list! And aren’t they the cutest? Their wedding style, from the fashion to the florals flowed so effortlessly you’d never know they didn’t land on an official theme or color palette when planning. Thanks to Sweet Julep Photography for sharing the images below!
Taylor tells it, For a photographer, I wanted someone who shot film and that I knew I could 100% trust. I also wanted someone I felt comfortable being myself around, which is huge for your wedding day. You spend 90% of the day with them. I adore the Sweet Julep girls. They’re more than just photographers, they are my friends. Brittany is also Zak’s cousin, so it was super fun to have family-friend with us all day!
When planning our wedding, we knew we wanted it to be outdoors and feel very natural. We never decided on a set theme, we just pulled colors together that inspired us. It was honestly a guessing and hoping it would turn out okay game. We picked out the bridesmaids dresses first, then added on colors from there. We knew we wanted the groomsmen to wear something unique, but still cohesive. Zak chose their outfits completely on his own (guy has style). We added on things as we went to make it flow together (like the bridesmaid shawls, two weeks before!). We knew the florals would incorporate lots of our colors. It somehow ended up looking better than we had hoped!
Taylor’s winter bouquet recipe: white wax flower hybrid, white genitor, eucalyptus, peony, anemone, scabiosa, ranunculus, acasia, olive branch foliage, rose Early Gray and rose O’hara.
They set their wedding budget around $10K, although it ended up being closer to 15. It helped that Taylor took on the planning (and invites) and that Aldridge Gardens offered up an outdoor space that fit their vision and budget. They planned from 11 months out right up until the week-of.
One last sweet moment before you open the gallery… T says, I was holding back joyful tears the entire day it seemed. I would have to say my favorite moment though is when we read our handwritten vows to one another. Zak paused in the middle of his, holding back tears. He was so sweet as he pulled out his pocket square to wipe the tears from my eyes as I read mine to him. It was raining all around us and was absolutely perfect. I giggle-cried the entire time.
All the best to Taylor + Zak!
