Quirky California wedding: Lisa + Geoff

Categories   Real Weddings

Ready for a DIY FEST?? Lisa and Geoff went nutso with the projects for their super cute wedding… as in, they made everything. EVERY. THING. Including the bride’s dress and all of the the bridesmaid dresses. That’s some hardcore commitment to handmade. Let’s just get right into the photos and we’ll explain as we go.

First off, um hello chalkboard quote bubble! Will you come to every wedding and follow us around where ever we go? Awesome idea.

Next, Lisa designed their invites and all paper goods. Their theme is a mix of summer fair and backyard BBQ. Cute, no? She posted more pics of their invites and their unreal little cake toppers from bunny with a toolbelt on her blog.

And the dress. Inspired by a 50’s party dress, Lisa made the entire thing by hand. Look at the layers of tulle! It took her almost 6 months to make it, and she finished just 4 days before the wedding. The skirt is killing us.

She also made her veil, obviously. She posted a tutorial on her blog in case any of you are up for a pretty project.

And she made the bunting flags lining the aisle. We haven’t seen them used in this way yet. TRÉS CUTE!

And she made the felt mustaches for their photos. Which, according to her mustache tutorial, looks to be a pretty easy project.

Bridesmaids dresses? Made them. Of course. Is there any other way? (more photos on her blog)

Look at their elephant cake topper!!! Geoff made the cupcake stands from thrifted candlesticks epoxied to trays/plates/pie pans. And shockingly, there is no tutorial. But what a cute idea.

Keeping with their fun theme, tables/centerpieces were named after different board games.

Aren’t they the cutest? Lisa and Geoff, you two did an amazing job throwing your wedding party. Thank you sooooo much for sharing with us!

I love the yellow colored invitations, the flowers, the carefree and happy aura of the bride on her wedding day. But what amuses me the most, was the shot with all the bridesmaid's and groomsmen, taking a picture along with the bride and groom with, all of them wearing funny looking mustaches. This shot gave a funny twist to the whole wedding, how unique!

SO well done, and those caramel apples sealed the deal for me. The pic of the groom shedding a tear just made me lose it - guess that means the photos are really good!

Kim on Sep 24, 2009

Loraine Harrison on Sep 23, 2009

I Looks like a great, fun wedding, but the bride's dress and shoes were very unflattering to a lovely bride. She could have done better on that.

nikole on Sep 22, 2009

beautiful, what great photos.

emmyjane on Sep 22, 2009

The best part is that the dress makes it look like she's twirling in every picture even though I'm sure she's not.
