How to throw a fall soirée for your girlfriends
Jillian here. Who’s ready for Fall entertaining? Me! I recently renovated my backyard and partnered with Wayfair to style it out with amazing lounge and dining furniture, so naturally, I had to throw a party to break it in. You may have seen past renovations like my front porch, master closet, home office, and kitchen & laundry makeover. If you’re curious about all the updates you can always follow along on my insta @jilly100lc #clarksfirsthome. Okay, okay, let’s get into the entertaining details already!
To throw the ultimate Fall soiree, I called on Chole + Mint to assist with a few of the details. Consulting with a planner is a great way to connect with vendors you otherwise might not think to hire for your event. She introduced me to the talented 12th and Olive, who created these amazing flowers and Seniman Calligraphy for the place cards and signage. I really wanted this to feel special, so instead of using my own dishes, I rented from Borrowed Blu. Their pieces elevated the tablescape so it felt like the perfect adult dining experience.
When I throw a party, I’m usually running around getting people drinks or finishing the food, but not this time! Sometimes you need to just sit back and really enjoy your company. Little Nelly LA created the most amazing Fall feast of assorted cheeses, whole branzino, linguine with sautéed mushrooms, stuffed honeynut squash, and sautéed broccolini, AND ended it with spiced almond cake. It was so delicious! And, hey, I realize this isn’t an experience everyone can afford to have, but what you can do is split the cost with your friends and have everyone bring a bottle of vino. This way you can have the restaurant experience in the comfort of your own home and the party can rage late into the evening.
You can find those wood candlesticks holders here!
As I mentioned, we partnered with Wayfair on all of our backyard furnishings. Below is a list of all the items if you’d like to purchase for yourself. With the weather starting to cool here in LA, the firepit is everything! I’m truly in love with everything and it fits so perfectly within our space. I wouldn’t change a thing.
2 Piece Wood Lantern Set / Craney Mud Cloth Cotton Pillow Cover / Mud Cloth Cotton Pillow / Grazian 4 Piece Sectional Set with Cushions / Light Outdoor Barn Light / Outdoor Barn Light / Lunar Concrete Gas Fire Pit / Earnest Dining Table / Patio Dining Chair / Piece Pressed Tin with Wooden Base Metal Pot Planter Set / White Ceramic Pot Planter
Our new dutch door is so inviting!
We recently introduced some Clé tile to ourside patio. We thought about doing wood to mimic the back but I’m so glad we introduced pattern to our space.
Lunar gas fire pit paired with Grazional sectional! Tip: If you’re thinking about getting a gas fire pit be sure to have your contractor create the gas line under your deck in the approximate area. This will save you money in the long run.
This was such a special evening with my ladies. Thanks to everyone (names below) who helped create this magical night. Hope this helps you get into the fall entertaining spirit. xx, Jillian
