Wedding at Hyatt Regency Maui

Hi Cakies! Jillian, our Real Weddings Editor here. A couple months ago I got to visit the beautiful island of Maui in Hawaii on a press trip to soak in all Hyatt Regency Maui had to offer—from amazing restaurants to lounging at one of their beautiful pools right off the ocean to relaxing at the Marilyn Monroe Spa, and of course sipping Mai Tais at sunset.

I also got to explore the expansive property’s new wedding and event spaces and attend a real wedding. For someone who loves weddings (obvi) this was such a treat. Not to mention meeting photography power couple Dmitri & Sandra, who photographed the wedding I attended below. It’s so rare I get to meet all the talented vendors we showcase and I always get a little starstruck…

Aren’t these florals gorgeous against the ocean backdrop? The color palette for this wedding was inspired by the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm located in upcountry Maui. It’s a farm that allows people to feel relaxed and refreshed in a beautiful location, and the Hyatt team wanted to channel that for this real wedding.

Hyatt is really focused on making sure guests experience the same level of beauty and relaxation that couples do during their stays as well. We always hear from couples that making sure their guests have a blast is a huge priority, so this would be the perfect place to celebrate together.

A little info on weddings like this… With the ocean as our backdrop, our themed wedding celebrations included a lux welcome reception in our Presidential Suite, gorgeous wedding brunch in our Japengo wedding venue, Bridal Party Salon & Spa experience, special lunch and haku lei making in our Palace Suite, and an elaborate wedding ceremony and reception dinner on our brand new Halona Kai lawn with panoramic ocean views and flowers galore.

During the trip, I also got to meet some incredible planners. It was so fun to chat with them about destination weddings. And all of them agreed it would be so amazing to plan your wedding weekend at Hyatt Regency Maui.

After experiencing a week of activities, I couldn’t agree more. Destination weddings are where it’s at, amirite? It’s hands-down the most relaxing, fun way to spend a week with fam and friends. It will be all the talk for years to come.

A few highlights and recommendations for you all…

• The Nakalele Blowhole
• Honolua Bay for snorkeling (we actually spotted a few turtles, which made our day.)
• A trip to Pia for shopping
• Splurge and have lunch or dinner at Mama’s Fish House
Japengo restaurant at the hotel was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had!
• Helicopter ride to Molokai; it’s the best way to really get some perspective
• Get up early and watch the spectacular sunrises.

As amazing as this wedding was, Hyatt Regency Maui has several distinct wedding packages so you can choose the destination wedding that’s right for you. See more info here. A big thank you to Hyatt for having me!
