Colorful, moody Brooklyn wedding & NOLA honeymoon photoshoot

NOLA honeymoon shoot

Morning, friends! Andrea and Mike’s wedding comes complete with lots of great stories, like how these two choose Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn so they could celebrate with their neighborhood, Manhattan, in the background. After the big day, they jetted down to New Orleans (where Mike’s parents met) for honeymoon portraits around the city. We’ve got a bit of both days by Katherine Dalton + DM Events & Design for ya below…

The bride, on their fave moments…
1. The first reveal. I remember being so nervous/anxious all day and texting with Mike in the hours leading up to the reveal. He was equally as nervous. The second that we saw each other it was a sigh of relief. We were now together to experience the biggest day of our lives hand in hand as best friends and soon to be husband and wife. Any nerves we were holding on to dwindled away the moment we saw each other and we were ready to get the party started!
2. The Father of the Groom kicking off dancing after dinner by singing New York State of Mind.  All of our friends were out of their seats, singing along and dancing…. That didn’t stop until the after party came to a close.

Andrea explains, Mike and I chose to not have a formal wedding party for our big day. We felt each one of our 130 guests held a special place in our hearts and were essential in us becoming the people and ultimately the couple we were today (we made sure to make mention of this during our ceremony). We also chose to do our mother/son + father/daughter dance during our walk down the aisle prior to being wed. Mike and I had our first dance exiting the ceremony immediately after we were married.

They made their favors (which doubled as place cards) with five different patterns of blue + white tiles monogrammed and completed with coaster pads on each corner.
