Joni of Mint and Mirth explains: As a wedding bartender, one of the best parts of my job is bringing the unexpected to a classic signature cocktail. I love to incorporate new drinks into parties, weddings, and styled shoots. Myles Katherine and I imagined a modern bride who wanted a fun bridal shower afternoon with her girls, complete with bangin’ cocktails, bright makeup, tattoos, and pops of pale and hot pastels—think the color palette of springtime, but with the volume turned up!

The team chose Portland, Oregon’s Commissary Café for their “badass bride and her maids” to setup shop for the afternoon.
Northern Fjord

1/2 aquavit
1/2 orange juice

We had such a wonderful time putting together our rockin’ spring tea party and we hope modern brides find inspiration in it too! Many aspects of our afternoon can be DIYed as we described here so give them a shot and have FUN! These cocktails, combined with our models’ tattoos, fun hairstyles and edgy attitudes definitely lets you know this was definitely Not Your Mama’s Tea Party!
