Here’s a shoot that proves you don’t have to go to France to live out your dream of a Parisian wedding (perhaps for the honeymoon though?). Photog Ashley Willis of Firm Anchor explains: We are very much inspired by the Parisian lifestyle, and this wedding pays tribute to that alluring elegance that draws us in and sweeps us up in a romance that engages all of our senses. The Parisian lifestyle tiptoes the line between elegance and decadence with great ease. When creating this look, we wanted to stay true to the Parisian nature and create a scene that feels both effortless and yet completely thought out. Setting the tone for an artistic vision, our wedding was shot at the Whiskey Row Lofts in Louisville, KY steeped in a rich history of French forefathers and artisans past.

Ashley: “Mon chéri, tu es une œuvre d’art” translates, “My darling, you’re a work of art”.

As guests move from the ceremony to the reception, they are invited to find their table as they pour themselves a drink and find their escort tag attached to their vintage teacup. Each table is numbered by the custom labeled bottle of wine waiting for the guests to enjoy upon their arrival. The table is set with fresh warm bread and authentic French cuisine with colors and textures that invite guests to enjoy a romantic evening amongst the ones they love.

  1. Actually, that French phrase is completely incorrect and, translated literally, would be gibberish. The correct spelling and phrasing of the French is “Mon chéri, tu es une œuvre d’art.” Thought you might like to update it for your readers who speak French & know what’s what. :)

  2. Thank you, Ashley! We know the event designers really appreciate you pointing that out, and giving us the correct phrasing.

    Merci!

  3. I might have missed it, but where are the accessories (earrings and sash) from? So pretty!

  4. Beautiful! On the other hand, the french phrase is not correctly spelled.
The right phrase would be: “Mon chéri, tu es une œuvre d’art” (Awww, it made me think of my beloved!)

  5. Ooh, where is that gorgeous ring from please?

  6. So delicate and tender! Love couple and photoshoot!(:

  7. We are so glad you guys love our featured earrings, ring, and sash as much as we do! The earrings are from Anthropologie, the ring is from Kate Spade’s jewelry line, and the sash is from The Dress Theory (it is so gorgeous in person!).

We are so honored to share this feature & we hope to fill your hearts with Parisian inspiration and dreams of the French Countryside. Now I must go practice my French, I see I could use a little brushing up before I purchase the one way ticket to Paris that I’ve had my eye on.

    Merci Beaucoup!
