Now don’t get us wrong; we love us a sweet seaside engagement or a cute picnic shoot. But for an active and outdoorsy pair like Alex and Cassee, it was only fitting to take things up a notch. Jasmine Fitzwilliam from Let’s Frolic Together says, These two hunks have hiking stamina! 9000 feet above Palm Springs, we rode the spinning tramway to the top and took in some incredible views. We then continued to hike into the wild and foresty crannies of this beastly mountain.

From Cassee: Alex and I love to ride our rusty bikes around town; we’re always on the hunt for the best donuts in the world; we read nerdy books; watch nerdy movies; and enjoy rock climbing and being active together. We actually met in high school. He was really shy and kind of a loner, but I was bold enough to ask him if he wanted to eat lunch with my friends and me. I must have been quite the charmer, because 8 years later, we’re about to get married!
We chose to have our engagement photos in the mountains above Palm Springs, because that’s our favorite rock climbing area and where he proposed to me. We even went to what we have named “Proposal Rock” and had pictures taken there, so that’s pretty special to me!
The best advice our photographer, Jasmine, gave us was to dress comfortably for the shoot. We knew we’d be hiking and climbing, so we decided to go with our go-to jeans (and skirt), favorite tops, and our best boots. It was nice to not think about our outfits too much, and have more fun enjoying the moment!
