After hearing that Jan Davidsz. de Heem’s “Festoon of Fruit and Flowers” was the main inspiration for this shoot, we were like, Aha. So that explains it… That’s why it’s as pretty as a painting. Meghan from Flowers by Milk & Honey says, The painting’s dark shadows, blends of deep reds and yellows, and pops of vibrant blue draw you in to its world. We wanted to translate this glamorous and mysterious mood to a wedding celebration, because what better occasion to honor abundance and richness of life! Well said, Meghan.
We love how Debra Eby Photography captured the light and shadows, like only a true artist can. We think the Dutch masters would approve.
Looking for some jewel tone blooms to inspire your own centerpieces? How about these hot pink garden roses, maroon snapdragons, and purple greenery, all delicately dotted with moss.
That cake… Um, wow.
Thanks to all the folks below for sending this artistic shoot our way!
