A Casa de Perrin dinner party at Malibu Rocky Oaks
Back in November we posted this pic on Instagram. Pretty insane view, right? Well we finally get to share what went down on that oh so beautiful evening. But first, that gorgeous embossed poster designed by Pitbulls and Posies. It lists all the talented folks involved in making this cocktail + dinner party extra special. And because no one tells the story of a party better than the host, we’re going to let Casa de Perrin share the deets with you…
The idea of throwing a particularly special dinner party came out of us wanting to thank our friends and colleagues who have majorly supported us over the past couple years, since the inception of Casa de Perrin. We wanted to put together a night that took everyone away from the craziness of wedding season and everyone’s slam-packed schedules, and really treat our guests to the pure joy that is actually getting to ENJOY an event, rather than work at one.
In order to set the tone for the night, we went to Amber Moon of Pitbulls and Posies with grandiose ideas, knowing that she would be able to take our excitement for what we were doing and translate that into the perfect invitation. And, in true Pitbulls and Posies form, Amber came back to us with the idea of a poster-sized, blind embossed print of all the vendors collaborating with us. We hand-delivered the invitations to personalize the experience and really let our guests know how grateful we are.
Celio Paulo de Almeida of Celio’s Floral Design architecturally constructed arrangements were placed as accent pieces on both the welcome and dessert display tables, and the most beautifully perfect arrangements accented the lounge furniture vignettes.
We decided to host our dinner at Malibu Rocky Oaks, a private vineyard with such an amazing 360-degree view of the Santa Monica Mountains you almost feel like you’re up in the clouds. We set the theme as 1960’s Paris meets Old World Tuscany, in part to incorporate the beautiful juxtaposition of the estate’s Parisian-filled Tuscan villa, and in part to impose a sense of Audrey Hepburn-esque glamour and undertone on the night.
We worked extremely closely with Edgar Zamora of Revelry Event Designers to bring in the long, natural driftwood colored tables and rustic-yet-formal dining chairs, 1960’s inspired chandeliers, reclaimed wood bars and Parisian gilded vignette furniture.
60 feet of the most lush floral runner I’ve ever seen graced the entire length of our table, complete with tulips, garden roses, succulents, air-plants and eucalyptus that spanned over a food wide.
The party was also a chance for us to debut our new Heath Ceramics and Teak Flatware lines, along with our Antique White Florentine Chargers, Salt Cellars, Cut Crystal and Pressed Glass Goblets and Champagne Coupes.
We had been working with Pitbulls and Posies on a concept for our print catalogs that would be both beautiful and functional, and decided that this dinner would be the perfect place to gift personalized versions of these catalogs to our guests. She created a deck of 5×7 cards depicting each of our rentable collections and compiled them in custom, hand-stitched leather pouches, laser engraved with each guest’s name. Now our clients have a “moveable inspiration board” of sorts, to interchangeably visualize what all of our collections look like together.
Talmadge Lowe of Pharmacie was instrumental in helping with the flow of our event, especially from a drinks-perspective. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed at the door with a Pineau Francois Orange aperitif, and then directed to the property’s helipad landing where we had set a 12′ circular, reclaimed-wood bar with an assortment of ombre vintage glassware in colors that mimicked the incredible sunset as the sun went down on us during cocktail hour. It’s hard to pick a most favorite aspect of the event, but this was by far and away our favorite bar we’ve decked out to date.
We love the way Paige Jones Photo is capable of capturing both the up-close details, and the big-picture landscape scenery of where an event is taking place, so we knew we wanted to look back on this night and be able to relive it through her eyes. Not to mention she’s probably one of the greatest humans we know.
Dominique Pruitt stood atop our faded vintage rug and put on an acoustic set for cocktail hour that perfectly fit the vibe of the night. We have been fans of Dominique’s music for some time, and knew that an acoustic version of her original music (best described as 1960s west coast pop/rock n roll) would be the perfect welcoming touch.
It is hard not to want to use Heirloom LA for every single momentous occasion in our lives. No tasting was necessary on our part..in true Heirloom LA fashion, we just let them know the color-scheme of the dinnerware we would be using and the overall feel of the night, and they took it from there.
Such an incredible night! We feel so lucky to have wined and dined with great friends, that also happen to be amazingly talented!
