Whimsical, rustic Texas wedding: Michele + Stephen

We hope you all had a really great Thanksgiving with your families yesterday. We’re going to continue enjoying the holiday with our families, but we wanted to make sure to send you into the weekend with pretty wedding inspiration, should you be one of those cute couples that got engaged over Thanksgiving! Michele + Stephen’s wedding is the perfect combo of elegant (her Vera Wang gown is a beaut), with a side of funk (think upside down painted flamingos). It was all in tribute to their town’s motto, “Keep Austin Weird”, and The Byrd Collective did a fab at tying it all together beautifully.

Love how The Byrd Collective dyed fabric and draped it so that it covered the top of the tent. Such a pretty way to warm up the space, right? And those painted flamingos are too funny.

The Byrd Collective hand sewed strips of fabric together to emulate a Moroccan wedding blanket for the table runners.

Michele keeps it real with her advice to future brides: There are always things to do differently and you may lay awake weeks after the wedding thinking about this and that. Indulge yourself in those thoughts then let them go.  Nothing will ever be perfect. I knew weddings were “stressful” but I really didn’t understand how stressful they really are. I had planned events with ease but my wedding was a different story. Family drama, vendor problems, budget blowouts, decision fatigue are all part of it. I did have one regret, and that was spending too much on everything. It got so crazy and stressful, I didn’t have time or the mental capacity to figure out ways to save money. It was like, “We need A/C”.  Okay. “The tent needs to be bigger”. Okay. “We need more money to do x, y, and z”. Ugh, OKAY. Remember that, but try to have as much fun as possible during the process. It will be worth it!

Thanks for being so honest, Michele. And congratulations to you and Paco. Everything looked amazing!
