Did you guys read yesterday’s ESB post on how to handle the haunting guest list? It’s still on our minds after hearing about Lauren + Greg’s big wedding. With large families and an even bigger guest list of friends and co-workers, they decided that a destination wedding in Lake Tahoe was the way to go in order to create the intimate atmosphere they craved, with 180-200 people in attendance. Can’t even imagine what that number would have been if they kept it to their hometown. Either way, it was beautiful and intimate, says the photos by Annie McElwain.

One of the ways they created a natural, cozy, and inclusive feel to the day, where everyone in attendance would know how important they were to them – creating a semi-circle ceremony so that everyone felt included, and close to the couple.

Family wedding pictures of our grandparents, parents and four married sisters were strung along a “timeline” behind the escort card table. Capturing moments on camera is an important part to our relationship so we asked all of our guests to replace their escort cards with Polaroid pictures of themselves.

Thanks for sharing Annie! And cheers to Lauren + Greg!

Love this country theme. Peach is such a soft color and blends in so well with this design.
The cake, roses, table settings help to create such a soft and relaxed feeling. Done very well. Oh and the shoes.
I’m not usually a wedding sap, but man this video of a #Tahoe wedding is gorgeous. http://t.co/VweDywwu via @100LayerCake
