Hi Cakelets! Jillian here. Since there’s still a good two weeks before summer is officially over, I thought it would be fun to show you how to make these colorful lei’s. I made a handful of them for Amanda’s tiki bridal shower, and the ladies loved them! I’m pretty sure you’re going to love how easy they are to make too. Super fun for any bbq’s or beach days you have planned for this weekend. And, this is how you make them…

Diy Hawaiian Lei

Step 1: Gather up a bunch of colorful crepe paper. We’re dying to get our hands on some these fine Italian crepe papers, so pretty!

Step 2: Measure out 2 strands of crepe paper 18″ each. Two 18″ stands = one paper flower.

Step 3: Begin to tuck and fold the paper in a circular motion to create your flower. Pinch the ends of the crepe paper to secure.

Step 4: You’ll need about 12 flowers per strand + embroidery thread. Once you have all your flowers created I like to lay them out in order to make sure I like the color arrangement.

Step 5: Begin to tie each flower with a double knot onto your thread so it’s securely fastened.

Step 6: Fluff each flower to make it nice and full. Be careful not to rip or loosen the flower to much so it stays attached.

And, there you have it! Super easy, fun project that could be used for lei’s or could be really cute as garland. We hope this inspires you for your next soiree!
