I love themed dinner parties! It always livens things up and makes things lots of fun. My last dinner party actually wasn't themed though - it was just a potluck tapas party!

Liz on Mar 19, 2012

Ohh love this collection! I bought a set for one of my best friends' registry 2 weeks ago! I live in the South, so my ideal dinner party is outdoors under our oak trees, with the table spread with potluck dishes and homemade pies. We'd light candles and lanterns as the sun goes down, and of course a few citronella lanterns to dispel the mosquitoes :)

Kaley on Mar 19, 2012

I like to stick to a loose theme, so the food, decor, and even music reflects a cohesive idea. Bonus if I can get my guests to dress the part!

Dana on Mar 19, 2012

Casey on Mar 19, 2012

I also love themes - and love to try new recipes on forgiving friends! And I always have things for guests to do in the kitchen... yes, I keep it informal. And love it that way.

Emily on Mar 19, 2012

I love hosting dinner parties, but I always invite my guests to bring a dish to share. This way, everyone tries something new and gets new recipe ideas!

Kayti Clayton on Mar 19, 2012

My "dream" dinner party would be a woodsy outdoorsy picnic type of dinner. But the decor would resemble a sort of tea party. With dainty dishes, mismatched antique chairs, string lights hanging from the trees, etc.

Katherine W. on Mar 19, 2012

I would love to have my neighbors over for dinner, maybe cook something new out of the Top Chef cookbook, all while my husband makes Manhattans. And after dinner, who knows, we might even play a few hands of poker and enjoy some Ben Folds.

Cecilia B on Mar 19, 2012

My perfect dinner party is a few close friends, some sangria, and a great paella!

Rebekah N on Mar 19, 2012

Dream dining party would be with 15 of my closest friends on a Spring night in the backyard. Globe string lights and a few outdoor heat lamps are a must to brighten and warm up a breezy night. Something grilled and fresh for dinner. Heavenly <3

Grace on Mar 19, 2012

The Nortitake Colorwave Collection has a simple and sharp look that I love. I would decorate with a bright punch of red to compliment the black and white set, and I would create various sushi dishes, finishing with fondue for dessert! My friends would love it!

Erin J on Mar 19, 2012

I love the Noritake collection! It has convinced me to sign up for a Macys Registry!

Angie D in Ohio on Mar 19, 2012

I love the sleek and contemporary look of the Noritake Colorwave Collection esp. the Graphite selection. The boldness of the black and white on your table top and the flicker of candlelight bouncing off retro mercury glass. Flowers would be white, with silver baubles thrown in for sparkle. Tiny mercury glass votives at each place setting shimmering so brightly as it reflects against the black plates. The party would be elegant, inviting and ohhh so romantic.

Amy P on Mar 19, 2012

I love dividing the dinner party into different mini-events. When the guests arrive, it's a casual cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers. Then the night moves to a sit-down dinner and ends with a more casual dessert bar where guests can again walk around and mingle. I want my guests eating off of the Graphite Square Set!

Ellie on Mar 19, 2012

I love a good-old-fashioned pot-luck. It would be fun to do one vintage style - and of course with the turqoise coupe collection. It's so beautiful!

Heather on Mar 19, 2012

I really love to throw rustic, Mediterranean style dinner gatherings. Simple and easy for me to pull off, and a nod to the heritage of both my fiance` and I.

Hikari on Mar 19, 2012

I have a huge weakness for dishes. I can't stop buying them. I cannot wait to get my hands on some of these settings. Absolutely beautiful.

Morgan on Mar 19, 2012

When planning a dinner party I like to pick one challenging dish and the rest super easy. That way I don't end up spending the entire night in the kitchen.

Laura on Mar 19, 2012

My (new!) husband and I love to have people over and serve them something TexMex... we're Texans newly transplanted to the Northeast due to the military, and we love to share our home cuisine with new friends! Think guacamole, sour cream chicken enchiladas, sopa de lima, with most recipes thanks to the Homesick Texan. These dishes would be a great casual/elegant touch to a gathering!

Kathleen Niffenegger on Mar 19, 2012

My ideal dinner party is family style with lots of delicous, rustic dishes and wine flowing with good friends and family!

Jenni on Mar 19, 2012

My perfect dinner party.... small and full of laughter! On my deck with my best friends :) Loving the raspberry graphite collection!

Sarah on Mar 19, 2012

I love a dinner party when guests can be outside - playing bocci, sitting by the fire pit, sipping cocktails, and just relaxing. Guests can casually construct their own pizzas and let the grill master bake them up while they enjoy the outdoors!

Sarah on Mar 19, 2012

This week, my best friend is hosting a breakfast for dinner party. This is a great idea!

Dana on Mar 19, 2012

My favorite dinner party we ever held was a roll your own sushi night. We made the rice and set out all the ingredients (nori sheets, veggies, cream cheese, strips of fresh fish, tempura'd vegetables). It was a small party with two other couples. So much fun! I am in love with the bloom collection. So gorgeous!

Emily H. on Mar 19, 2012

I love the idea of brinner (breakfast for dinner) - it's always surprising, besides being fun and laid back. It's also one of those rare times that always-on-the-go people get to enjoy a fancy, lavish breakfast spread. We're planning to do brinner for our wedding reception this fall!

Nicole VanLaanen on Mar 19, 2012

My ideal dinner party would include Lots & Lots of artisan cheese and great wines.

Robyn on Mar 19, 2012

My husband and I are both artists - and some of the dinner parties we like to have are what I refer to as "Coloring Day." It's a potluck - and we have all our fellow artist friends come over for a day of food, fun and... coloring - well, any kind of art really. Loving the Noritake Colorwave Blue Rim set!

Stacey on Mar 19, 2012

A meal made of local, fresh Pacific Northwest veggies and fruits from shared with friends is beautiful.

Kelly on Mar 19, 2012

Ideal dinner party is anything in the summer. Through a few things on the grill (make your own kabobs are a favorite) and have a few simple salads. Easy, no fuss and lets you hang out and relax with your guests.

Linda on Mar 19, 2012

I love mixing modern and classic serving pieces when setting a table. Also- the best part of throwing a dinner party is always desert!

Melissa on Mar 19, 2012

Small plate dessert party! 'Nuff said :) (seriously, who can resist mini desserts)

Chelsea on Mar 19, 2012

Our next dinner party will be in honor of the 2 hour season premiere of Mad Men, and the all-American casseroles and 50's classics would look great on that awesome Noritake dinnerware!

Anja on Mar 19, 2012

I love the Noritake Dinnerware, Colorwave Blue Square 4 Piece Place Setting! I am currently organizing my best friends wedding and would use this for her intimate luncheon for the couple and maid of honor and best man right before the ceremony. Their wedding colors are blue and yellow and these would fit perfectly for my maritime inspired luncheon theme.

Jennifer B on Mar 19, 2012

I enjoy a good dinner party, but I looooooove a good outdoor Sunday brunch party! Set up a patio with some airy fabrics and fresh flowers. Get some relaxing music playing in the background. Breakfast cocktails with fresh squeezed juices, frittatas, homemade pastries and savory baked goods, and fresh fruit...such a delightful way to start a laid back weekend. Throwing in some games like horseshoes and croquet can help turn a lazy morning into fun afternoon with friends as well.

Vanessa on Mar 19, 2012

I was thinking of a Pinterest themed dinner party. Find ideas on Pinterest and make a board for you next dinner party.

Christie on Mar 19, 2012

I don't ever want anyone to be bored, so I like to have a game going on through out the night. Once when I hosted a potluck dinner we played a game of "Potluck Trivia." I placed cards with trivia questions (themes of: pop culture, finish the song lyrics, name the ingredients in this cocktail, etc) all around the house and set up ballots & pencils by the front door. Guests could answer the questions throughout the night as they found the "hidden" trivia cards. At the end of the night I collected the finished ballots, checked for the ballot with the most correct answers, and then the winner was announced & given a bottle of champaign as a prize. Everyone LOVED it!!

Kristen C. on Mar 19, 2012

My favorite dinner party idea is to theme it around a board game. The last game we played was "Clue" and everyone dressed up as one of the classic clue characters and brought an appropriate "prop" - rope, candlestick, etc. It was a lot of fun to be in character, eat good food and then play the game!

Tara L. on Mar 19, 2012

Make your own pizzas! It's fun, interactive and everyone gets to customize what they eat. Plus, it's simple to prepare and quick to make!

Rachelle Bell on Mar 19, 2012

My favorite dinner party involves a theme... then I usually make food in the crock pot so the whole house smells good when people arrive! We recently got the Michael Jackson Dance Game on the nintendo wii and its amazing how the dancing spirit hits after a few cocktails. ha!

Alison J. on Mar 19, 2012

Oooh, I LOVE Noritake! And we are seriously lacking in the dishes department, it's really sad! When my family came over for my first Christmas dinner I didn't even have enough matching plates for everyone :( My favorite dinner party ideas are to 1) mix up seating to encourage discussion and mingling among guests who may not know each other as well, 2) to put on a Mad Men marathon and serve 60s style cocktails with dinner, and 3) to have one common ingredient that's in all of the dishes, like basil. I would even put it in dessert!

Jasmine on Mar 19, 2012

I love the graphite square setting. It's so sleek and modern!

Stacia Thrash on Mar 19, 2012

I'm in grad school right now and for the past several years we have hosted a "home away from home" thanksgiving dinner at our house for our friends. This year will be our first as a married couple, I can't wait!

Shelley on Mar 19, 2012

My ideal dinner party would be a vegas themed party. With card games, Card tables. Desserts shapped as chips and a jackpot of treats and wine. Just a all out fun themed event that everyone will remember.

Sierra Heater on Mar 19, 2012

I would love to throw a fun camp themed dinner party where guests play horseshoes and other croquet outside. Then we gather around a great long table to enjoy a feast!

Rosalyn on Mar 19, 2012

I like the square settings with the colored undersides. I think it would be good for a spring dinner with colorful and fresh food.

Sarah on Mar 19, 2012

I love using all locally sources foods (hello, bounties of NYC and suburbs!). I get local beer and wine, fresh veggies and meat from the Farmer's market and go to town. And the only dessert I know how to make is ice cream, so it's fresh fruit and local milk all the way!

annieharper on Mar 19, 2012

These dishes are beyond beautiful and would be perfect to celebrate the upcoming Birthday of my fiancé. For our dinner party I have invited everyone to bring a handmade portrait of him as a surprise!

I love this collection! We've registered for it, but of course I'd love to win it! I love planning dinner parties to celebrate my friends' accomplishments. One of my friends just got a new job, and I'm already planning a small dinner to toast to her success!

Megan on Mar 19, 2012

The key to any good dinner party I've ever thrown was mixing together equal parts awesome people and plenty of food & drink. It didn't need to be fancy. Gorgeous plates would certainly have added a level of sophistication. But the real key was the people. Good folks means a good time.

Allison on Mar 19, 2012

Every year we have an Oscars dinner party with food reflecting each Best Picture Nominee. I know the Oscars are over this year, but it is never too soon to start planning!

Kelli on Mar 19, 2012

I love the graphite rim collection, but how great would it be to mix and match with the graphite bloom collection?

Jenny on Mar 19, 2012

My favorite dinner party idea is doing a wine and appetizer pairing. This way everyone has to mingle in order to try all the food and the whole thing is an instant conversation starter!

Cynthia on Mar 19, 2012

Yowza! I love the coupe collection, especially in the green. I haven't ever thrown a dinner party but I can't wait to throw one with my new husband! All the beautiful tablescapes I see on your blog really inspire me -- I particularly love all the creative uses of succulents and air plants.

Rachael on Mar 19, 2012

Ideal dinner party would include a group of close friends for great company to compliment the fantastic food and decor. I would love to plan a casual, late summer evening barbeque, especially now that the weather is warming up!

E. Cho on Mar 19, 2012

I feel like you can't go wrong at any dinner party if you have candles, fresh flowers, good comfort food and friends to laugh with but my current favorite dinner party idea would be having someone else do the cooking and cleaning. I'm burnt from being poor and cooking all of my meals. 3 meals x 365 days x 5.5 years = burnt out New plates to eat all those meals on would be heavenly.

Maren on Mar 19, 2012

I love having a few simple appetizers, a killer dessert, and of course plenty of champagne!

Melinda on Mar 19, 2012

I love the idea of progressive dinner parties- where each course of the meal has a different host (and location). These parties require more planning in advance, but each course can be unique to the specific host's style and taste... it's a lovely way to spend an evening among friends. For obvious travel reasons it works best with friends who live very near each other...

Mary C on Mar 19, 2012

My favorite dinner parties are always when it's just us and our close friends, grilling out and eating on the porch enjoying the beautiful weather.

Beth on Mar 19, 2012

I love progressive dinner parties- everyone hosts one part. Less work, more socializing!

Sneha on Mar 19, 2012

The perfect Dinner Party -would be themed of course!! :) I love the ideas of a Mystery themed party, a couple years ago my friends hosted one and it was an absolute hit! Every guest was a character and you spent the evening eating, socializing as your character, and at the end of the night the mystery was solved! Every guest feels like an important part of the celebration and it is a constant source of entertainment throughout the night. Who doesn't love a little mystery in their lives?

Melissa P. on Mar 19, 2012

I'm loving the graphite color collection. Our fav dinner party ideas always include the good ol' potluck style reunion. We chose a region in the world and each brings for example, their favorite Mexican dish. I make sure to compliment our home with decor/accessories that go with the theme. It's so much fun!

Jocelyne on Mar 19, 2012

I often ask friends to bring their favorite wine to dinner parties. It's a great way to sample various wines you never would've thought to buy!

Marissa on Mar 19, 2012

I like to add a bit of retro formality and ask people to dress up. It adds a fun, festive vibe to a casual gathering.

Janie I. on Mar 19, 2012

A music dinner party would be fun! Everyone bring over their favorite tunes and you eat, sing and dance the night away!

Tamara C on Mar 19, 2012

My favorite thing to do for dinner parties are around the world themes! Each time we have one we pick a different culture to create dishes for- Greek, Indian, Italian, Lebanese! It's such a great way to step outside your comfort zone and try new foods. In the summer we host them on our patio and try to coordinate decor to match the cultural foods we are cooking!

Kate on Mar 19, 2012

I'd love a set of this dinnerware!

Jenna on Mar 19, 2012

I would love one of these sets to throw my first dinner party with! I love the idea of an around the world theme!

Melissa P on Mar 19, 2012

Family style dinner parties are the best way to go - it encourages everyone to converse and mixing up the seating so the same people aren't sitting next to eachother.

Teresa Chang on Mar 19, 2012

Great stuff for entertaining!

Zoe Pye on Mar 19, 2012

My ideal dinner party is a fondue set-up. easy prep, lots of guest interaction & cheese...lots of cheese.

Rebekah on Mar 19, 2012

An ideal dinner party for me and my friends starts off with a theme. It's usually something that actually comes from the current events in our lives. Examples: Harry Potter Party (for the last movie released), Euro Feast (for a friend moving to Belgium), Family Night (the first time back together after several months)... and so the list goes on. And yes, they always have a name... that's part of the fun! Whether the party is formal or casual, I believe the important thing is to get people really into it. A theme helps accomplish that.

Margaret on Mar 19, 2012

A great idea I heard recently was to have a wine and cheese party! Everyone brought a different type of wine and hunk of cheese from a region they were assigned, and at the party you got to taste wines and cheeses from around the world! :-)

Jessica Moran on Mar 19, 2012

Spanish theme--tapas, sangria and paella.

Alison on Mar 19, 2012

Food + Desserts + Drinks + Friends + Pretty Serving Ware = Perfect Dinner Party

Michelle on Mar 19, 2012

I love themed dinner parties - something Top Chef inspired where everyone has to make a dish with certain ingredients would be fun!

Sayoko Lynn on Mar 19, 2012

I love creating different levels to my food table. It gives it a more dramatic and appealing look. I've easily created my own stands in the past using a cylinder vase with a plate on top.

Genelle on Mar 19, 2012

A perfect dinner party would be small and intimate w/ 10 of my closest family and friends. I would have a long table w/ place settings for each person and low centerpieces so that everyone could still socialize. I would serve a variety of small tapas, mini desserts, and plenty of alcoholic beverages.

Jill C. on Mar 19, 2012

I love this dinnerware! It's so incredible! My favorite dinner parties that I've thrown in the last couple years have been those that have a specific country's food and drink. Most recently, we had a traditional Irish dinner on St. Patrick's Day, but I would love to do a Greek dinner party, Liberian dinner party, and Indian Dinner party in the near future! Hopefully with these plates!

mary bing on Mar 19, 2012

How about a dinner party great gatsby style??

Brittany Watson on Mar 19, 2012

My ideal party would be in a little cottage with the people that I love. There would be comfort food, candles and interactive games. Beautiful decor would just make this concept perfect!

BVJ on Mar 19, 2012

Love the Colorwave Turquoise Bloom 4 Piece Place Setting. Definitely suits our style.

Danielle Hendrix on Mar 19, 2012

my ideal dinner party would be with my closest girlfriends and their respective significant others. potluck style is always so much less stress and we usually end up putting the finishing touches on dishes and helping out the hostess all together in the kitchen, gossiping and getting a head start on the wine. add to that one long table, soft candlelight and fresh flowers. perfection.

Bonnie on Mar 19, 2012

I love having dinner parties in general! NO MATTER the theme, reason, or place! a backyard bbq, complete with "kiss the cook" aprons, a pool, some loud music and great friends, or a fancy dinner party, semi-formal wear, and four courses! I love to decorate and play up the foodie themes! I love the mustard yellow colorware noritake!! i got one 4 piece-place setting at my bridal shower this weekend (I dont' think the person who purchased it realized it was only one setting... hehe :) ) we could use another 4 place settings!!! hope i win! :)

Jane on Mar 19, 2012

I just started my Macy's registry after I heard about how longlasting Noritake iMy best idea for a dinner party is to choose a theme...it doesnt have to be announced or acknowledged in any way, but it sure makes menu planning a lot simpler :)

Sarah on Mar 19, 2012

I've been itching to host a "beer-tasting" dinner party for all of the brews that my fiance has been creating this spring! I was thinking that we'd do blind tasting during dinner and then tally the results to see if his beers stack up against tried and true labels.

Stefanie Gladden on Mar 19, 2012

for a wonderful dinner party I'd be sure to have lot's of delicious appetizers served on some really pretty platters, then prepare a meal of smoked salmon ( my favorite) with some vegetables such as asparagus & peppers.. And a side of mashed potatoes, it would be perfect on dinner plates like these!

Ashley on Mar 19, 2012

I am the last of my girlfriends to move out and literally just built my dining room table yesterday with my fiancé! I am new to the WHOLE idea of having a dinner party, i.e.. cooking! AHH! haha, but what I do love , is to show my friends a FABULOUS time while using the most stylish things in life, which is just what you have here!

Jesse on Mar 19, 2012

Dinner parties are always about the people, so I like to make sure the right mix of people attend. Games are a must as well - especially quick ones like Catchphrase that get everyone involved and excited quickly.

I am planning a dinner party for my housewarming at a newly purchased condo! Lotsa good food and better company!

kelli on Mar 19, 2012

i love dinner parties! especially when the table settings are black/white accented with bold statement pieces.

Meg on Mar 20, 2012

The best dinner party I've ever hosted was a 1920s Shanghai gangster party. Everyone dressed up and we had cocktails and shanghainese style mini-courses. It was fabulous! However, I would need to come up with a new theme idea if I could get those lovely green rim dishes.

Emily C on Mar 20, 2012

I love to utilize my backyard for my dinner parties! Just grab a few random chairs and coolers to sit on and gather around our fire pit with something simple to grill... instant conversation and comfort! (Especially if your guests have brought different desserts to share...!)

Jenelle on Mar 20, 2012

A good dinner party has good wine and good company. Use the wine as conversation starters by pairing them with fun appetizers. Oh and the menu should keep the host out from the kitchen and with his or her guests. Plan ahead for meals that you can keep warm in the oven or that don't require a lot of prep.

Rebekka Rickers on Mar 20, 2012

The best dinner partys are in the summer when you can sit outside and eat, drink and chatter for hours.

Mrs. Donohue on Mar 20, 2012

I just did a fabulous Venetian Nights dinner party, with a silk tent under the stars, gilded lanterns and crystals swinging from the trees, rugs and cushions scattered around an ornate loveseat a gorgeous white peacock and more. And then a topless male waiter served platters of marinated meats, seafood, minature salads, several desserts including handmade truffles and baklava, and of course endless champagne. The ladies were offered authentic Venetian masks, a stunning array of feathers, fans, gloves and more to "frost themselves"! Best part is that all of this was done on a students budget and with a great couple of my siblings - entirely DIY!!!

Natasha on Mar 20, 2012

For parties I love a theme, but dinner parties are nicest with a small group, a few people to cook with me (hanging out in the kitchen is my favorite!), and charades!

Homemade pizza night! Couples work as teams to make their best pizza, with topping choice as the main mode of competition. Red wine served for all, cannolis from a local bakery for dessert...dancing to finish the night...bistro lights if you have them...fresh flowers on the table...perfect. *Note: should be kept to three to four couples as pizzas can be filling!

I'd love to have my parents over for dinner, complete with rum and Cokes, shrimp fettuccine, and Crazy Stupid Love. My mom's been waiting to watch it for ages, and we all deserve a break.

April on Mar 20, 2012

I love the mix and match ones! Not everything has to be so matchy matchy! Then again, I do love the turqoise bloom! I love Macy's.

Jess on Mar 20, 2012

I have traditional fancy fine china, so I would love to have some sleek, modern everyday china to serve friends on!

Christina on Mar 20, 2012

Dinner party idea... cocktails and lots of appetizers! And freshly baked bread for each person to dip into the cheeses, hummus and other spreads!

katou on Mar 20, 2012

my favorite dinner party is a potluck. my fiance and all of my friends are incredible cooks. whenever we get together the offerings are an eclectic mix of everyone's best dish. yummmm!

Laura on Mar 20, 2012

I love making a lot of different dishes so no one feels obligated to eat something they aren't fond of. I just make mini versions of around four main dishes and a handful of sides. Then everything is left out either on a buffet or family-style on the table and people don't feel like they're expected to eat anything in particular. It's a nice way to cut tension and the food sure looks adorable! Pinterest is a great place for finding presentation ideas for miniature dishes!

Beautiful candlelight and soft music always make a dinner party a success!

My ideal dinner party would be an intimate dinner party with our closest family and friends with great wine, great music, great food and excellent conversation.

Kelly Michelle on Mar 20, 2012

I love a good dinner party when it ends with wine and board games. Everyone is always laughing and having fun.

Any meal shared with good friends and family makes me happy! We love hosting dinner parties and game nights.

As spring slowly starts springing, I'm antsy for an outdoor dinner complete with string lights, grilled fresh veggies, and after dinner drinks around an outdoor fire. Friends, laughter, and lighting!

stephanie on Mar 20, 2012

fondue. makes for such a fun, interactive dinner party - cheese for main course, then chocolate. so many possibilities for dippers.

Brittany on Mar 20, 2012

With the arrival of spring, an outdoor setting under the moonlight with lots of candles and string lights paired with an array of fine finger-foods...tomato and feta tart, rosemary shortbread, gouda puff pastry with apples, all makes for a great dinner party!

Svetlana on Mar 20, 2012

My ideal dinner would be outside on a warm summer evening, with lovely flowers to decorate and Christmas lights for ambiance.

Gotta love an appetizer or dessert party!

I'm really looking forward to Cinco de Mayo dinner parties! There is so much we can do with the decor and who doesn't love margaritas?!

Taylor on Mar 20, 2012

My ideal dinner party would include close friends, laughter, good (but healthy) food, and berries for dessert!

Sarah on Mar 20, 2012

Beautiful dishes! I'd love to have those!

Evalyn W on Mar 20, 2012

My friends and I are big fans of the potluck dinner party. We'll come up with a theme for the evening (Mexican, Asian, BBQ, etc) and everyone brings a dish to match. We've had some phenomenal dinners this way.

Annie on Mar 20, 2012

I love backyard close-knit picnics!

Dee on Mar 20, 2012

I love themed night dinner parties --- such as Italian or Indian cuisine -- to get to try new dishes with friends. Also, an around the world wine and cheese party would be fun --- sort of like a private global wine tasting event and everyone brings their favorite bottle to the party :)

Kelley on Mar 20, 2012

I would love to host a Mad Men-themed dinner party! A vintage dress code and some martinis, a little drama, and we'd be all set! ;)

Katherine W. on Mar 20, 2012

I've actually been dying for some time with just my husband, some yummy seafood--maybe a cioppino--and plenty of snuggling while catching up on Mad Men before the new season starts. And I just know the Noritake will match our home perfectly!

Kristen on Mar 20, 2012

I love having people switch seats during courses. That way people get to mingle more when they eat.

Sharon on Mar 20, 2012

We enjoy build-your own Mexican food ...bowls of fresh veggies, salsa, homemade guacamole, different grilled and sauteed meats, mangoes and fresh fruit trays for dessert.

Michelle A on Mar 21, 2012

I love "make your own pizza" parties! The toppings can be traditional or outrageous!

Elizabeth P. on Mar 21, 2012

I love our girls' night dinner parties. When you have yummy food, wine, and great friends, what else could you need?

Stacy on Mar 21, 2012

A great dinner party has lots of details!! Everything from the dishes to the guest list.

Emily on Mar 21, 2012

I love the idea of having a dinner party where the guests get to start with something basic and add what they like, like a taco bar! I like to keep dinner parties fun and casual.

Heidi on Mar 21, 2012

I can imagine the perfect 1920's party, all my friends in flapper dresses and gangster suits. A bookcase hides the door in which to enter. Pull on "The Great Gatsby" and open up to the warm environment of a speak easy, the white square Noritake Dinnerware set on the tables with white, blush, and peach peonies decorating the tables!

Gerrie on Mar 21, 2012

Favorite dinner party: good friends, good wine, family style serving and lots of laughter! Oh, and an impromptu dance party to top of the night! What great night doesn't end with dancing!

Jamie on Mar 21, 2012

Last month we did an American Craft Beer Tasting, where everyone brought a 6 pack of beer, and we served fun American appetizers like buffalo chicken rolls, homemade pretzels, and sausage and cheese plates. Everyone hunted down super rare beers and it turned into a great tasting!

sam on Mar 21, 2012

I'd love to have progressive dinner party wtth friends. We'd do wine and dessert in our backyard under the stars.

ryan on Mar 21, 2012

I love really fancy pizza. I think it'd be great to do a handmade craftsman pizza party.

Angie on Mar 21, 2012

I love progressive dinner parties where each course is at a different house. Love living in Southern California so you can do them all year round without having to put on the parkas! Lots of wine and home brews... so fun!

Jade on Mar 21, 2012

My most favored type of dinner party are when we host blind wine tastings (bottles wrapped up in craft paper) with lots of tapas and 2 bite heavy appetizers. It always makes for easy mingling and lots of conversation!

kate gallineau on Mar 21, 2012

i love dinner parties with small plates... oh and edible placecards!

Kari on Mar 22, 2012

Awhh we just decided on these for our place settings! They're perfect for dinner parties because they won't heat up in the microwave- so if you need to quickly reheat a dish that has gone room temperature you can, and then immediately serve it without anyone knowing that you just zapped it in the microwave! =)

eve n. on Mar 22, 2012

I love the graphite bloom- so lovely! I also has a lacy type texture that's interesting. Pretty and unique! Thanks for the giveaway!

Katherine W. on Mar 22, 2012

Now that the weather is starting to turn around, I'd love to have an outdoor day of paella with our neighborhood friends. Add some sangria and Coronas, lots of lime, and this dinnerware and we're ready to party!

Erin-Elizabeth on Mar 22, 2012

I love the patterns! Such a pretty color. Since I have so many wonderful, creative friends in the food industry my ideal dinner party would be something of a potluck where we can all cook together, and experiment then sit outside under the stars somewhere with a couple good bottles of wine and enjoy delicious food.

Dorothy on Mar 22, 2012

Loving the sleek matte dishware. So functional yet dramatic. My favorite dinner parties are interactive. For us, that usually means making springrolls, dumplings, or eggrolls; preparing a lot of filling and then sitting with a group of friends and teaching them how to roll rice paper or fold dumpling skins is always fun and saves me the tedious trouble!

Leigh on Mar 22, 2012

For weeknight dinner parties I love using the slow cooker - it makes it so easy to pull everything together after a long day at work :)

Jeanette Johnson on Mar 22, 2012

Dinners and parties are one in the same, they are the gatherings around food and take place in the kitchen of many a home. I love the gathering of these hearts whether it's family or friends and strangers sometimes or even a mixture of all.

I'd love to have a couple of my friends with dogs over for dinner. We could enjoy a great barbeque out on our patio, followed by a walk to the dog park and hours having fun in the sun.
