British Columbia wedding: Michelle + Martin

February 2, 2012
James Moes is helping us kick it up a notch with Michelle + Martin’s crazy and beautiful wedding. She wanted romance, soft colors and DIY projects throughout. He just cared about one thing – riding his bride off on a front loader bike. See, Martin is one hardcore bike polo player. After just five months of dating, he flew Michelle out to Berlin where he was competing in the World Bike Polo Championships and proposed. Their love of bikes, books, and tattoos is what has kept their relationship a steamy since. Ready to see what these two lovebirds are made of?

As my bridesmaids walked down the aisle, they had ‘First day of my life’ by Brights Eyes to guide them, then a friend of mine played on his guitar ‘Marry Me’ by Band of Horses and we celebrated our first walk down the aisle as Mr.and Mrs.Hauck to ‘Everlasting Light’ by The Black Keys. We slow danced to ‘Sea of Love’ by Cat Power for our first dance, and the night got lost to tunes from Otis Redding, Notorious BIG, Journey, and many more favs from the 80’s.

Aside from the couple Etsy vendors we bought from, a lot of the wedding was put together by friends and family. My best friend Mim (with some help) organized, prepped, and cooked our entire bbq menu. My cousin, also maid of honor, baked all the cupcakes and my friends baked all the desserts. When Martin and I began our research for our wedding, we didn’t realize how expensive it would be. We could NOT have done it without our friends and family. I had the dream and they made it come true (corny I know!).

Not corny in the least! Congrats Michelle + Martin!
