Where to begin. By now, you know that it’s not often we feature engagement sessions on this here blog. Every so often one comes our way that brings us to our knees, and we have no choice but to share it with you, our very nearest and dearest. Since it’s Friday (yahoo!), we thought we’d leave you for the weekend with Amy + Scott’s stunning engagement sesh shot by Matt Johnson.

A few words from Amy: Voodoo Beach seemed like the perfect spot for us – it was natural, rugged and beautiful, with so many yummy textures. We didn’t want anything corny or staged – but something young, fresh and a little bit candid and cute. Despite being shot in Summer, it was raining on and off that day, but the weather is what made the shoot so magic with all of the purple, blue and grey hues across the sky. His use of light and space is amazing. We were in the process of planning a little trip to Europe for our honeymoon, so the use of maps and binoculars in some of the photos is us getting ready for our adventure. We laughed when taking the photos of our attempts to join our two hands together to make a heart shape. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get the shape right – so we called that “our chubby love”.

Amy + Scott were truly lucky to have paired up with Matt. His talent is undeniable and hope to see more from him in the future. Congrats you two!

Seriously?! Wow. This is almost too perfect to be real. The love and passion for one another is so apparent in these photographs. They look completely carefree and so into the moment, it should be an inspiration for all engaged couples. What a beautiful shoot!
They are too adorable! I love how this is so natural and “underdone”. I love her dress, too, and that they both just look like they are being themselves.
This couple picked the perfect outfits for this shoot. They’re styled just right!

Love these engagement photos! Some of the shots look like they could have come straight from a magazine! Congrats Amy and Scott! Best of luck to the two of you.
Such a cute couple! Love the moody hues and color palette. This makes me want to start brainstorming a wedding suite, beachy/rustic.
I don’t remember how I got here, but I love romance and weddings!
I usually don’t leave a comment in any blogs I visit, but these photos are amazing! They could be models! But something they have and models from magazines don’t is LOVE. They look so in love! I love it! I wish them the best in their lives!

Amy where did you get your dress from? It’s gorgeous! I have to have it!
My husband and I hired Matt for our wedding in October last year. He did an amazing job and it was easy to convince hubby that we needed him as he takes amazing surf photos as well! Hehe, men.
Thank you for your lovely comments. Matt Johnson is such a talent, we were so lucky to have him on board. My dress is by Australian designer Alice McCall. Thank you 100 Layer Cake!
