Relaxed Maine wedding: Josh + Murphy

Categories   Real Weddings

Let’s put it this way: Josh Goleman (one of our favorite photographers) & Murphy’s adorable and relaxed Rockport, Maine wedding is the type of wedding you simply don’t want to leave. Beachside, beautiful, and all about fun, friends, music, and love. It doesn’t hurt that there were lobster rolls and a bonfire involved.

Friends pitched in along the way for the festivities – buying flowers, hanging lights, creating that magnificent circle of rocks you see below (where the ceremony took place.) Even the fabulous photographer, Gary Ashley, was a longtime friend of Josh’s!

Ooooh the back on that dress! So different and pretty.

Josh & Murphy got the Hog Slop String Band to drive all the way up from Nashville to perform a little square dance, two-steppin’ action. So much fun!

You know a party is good when it carries on long into the night and evolves into a bonfire on the beach! ┬áIsn’t that just perfect?

Now that’s how you do it. Best wishes to Josh & Murphy – this was a truly beautiful wedding!

Photography: Gary Ashley / Venue: Private property in Rockport, Maine / Flowers: DIY bouquet and table settings, flowers from Sheepscot Flower Farm / Invites: Maura Grace Ambrose / Caterer: Coastal Critters Clambakes & Grilling / Desserts: 3 Dogs Cafe & Sweet Sensations Pastry Shop / Music: The Hog Slop String Band / Dress: Saja

I'm a little obsessed with all the paper things used in this wedding -- they are so unique. I'm not sure the picture of the couple, lighthouse and banner could be any more adorable!

I love the simple, natural ceremony site. We're having an outdoor wedding and I've been reluctant to decorate the site because I didn't want to detract from it. The stone ring is wonderful. (The vintage handkerchief garland is pretty awesome, too.)
