How sweet is this Burgundian wedding, sent to us by the lovely photog Jen Altman. It’s full of all kinds of rich details with a heavy influence on French wine & dining, perfect considering the couple, Laurent & Kendall, met in Burgundy while the bride, an American, was studying wine. The bride and her mother (Marjorie of The Cook’s Atelier, a cooking school & supper club), went totally hands-on with everything here- from styling to designing and DIYing

How stunning is that chapel? And those car shots – undeniably adorable, like it was straight out of a French indie film.

Enjoying delectable and organic food and wine was super important to these two, not just for the menu but for the favors – they handed out cute little heirloom tomato plants fresh from their fave local producer.

This luminous reception might be our fave part of all.  It is completely idyllic – I mean, it doesn’t get more warm, cozy or romantic than candlelight in France, right?!

Excellently done, Laurent and Kendall. Or shall we say, magnifique!

  8. Lovely. So romantic. Love the atmosphere of the dinner with candles, and the huge curtains. Really beautiful.

  9. Wonderful photos. The line on the wall with the photos pegged on is a great idea!

  10. What a lovely wedding! I, too, especially love the photos of the bride and groom in the car. The tomato plants as party favors is a great idea, too! I never would have thought of that! Maybe we should start a new green trend and try to have more of the flower arrangements needed for weddings be live and given as favors. Not the bouquets, of course;) but maybe table arrangements?

  11. I so love your wedding. Your really made it very simple yet elegant as well. Despite the simplicity of your dress, you really pulled it off. You look absolutely gorgeous. I’m so inspired with your simple dress that I’ll definitely look for some womens formal wear that has that simple elegance feel to it.

  12. Hello everyone! Just a big thank you to 100 Layer Cake for featuring our wedding. It was a magical day and I am so pleased with how everything turned out. Our number one goal was to keep it simple and to make sure we enjoyed the day with our family and friends. We appreciate all of your nice comments and are happy that you all enjoyed it.

  13. The wedding does look so romantic and personal! My favorite part, besides the atmosphere, is Kendall’s veil. It’s absolutely beautiful! The scalloped edging is so delicate and ethereal! Can you tell us where you found it please? I have a similar simple, elegant dress and I’m looking for a stunning veil! Thanks!

  14. Hi Lauryl. Thank you so much. For me the veil was the most important part. I found it in Paris at Cymbeline. I think this wedding shop is international. Wishing you well in your wedding planning. I’m glad you enjoyed our photos.

Clo

  17. Very attractive wedding and the photographs are very well done.

  18. I love the meal setting with the candles.

  19. I love your use of light and the strings of photos. I’m doing a vertical layout. Black and white with art deco touches. Just a hint of animal print…enough to make it seem like an allusion to a Noel Coward play…
