Isn’t this first photo just beautiful?? The very very talented Anna Kuperberg sent us this pretty wedding at a private estate in Sonoma. And it has such a thoughtful theme woven throughout.
Early in their courtship Steve traveled a lot for work. In order to keep each other connected to the other, they started a book club of sorts… with just two members. They read books together even when they were apart and their love of reading became the central theme to their marriage celebration.
Instead of reading scripture, they chose letters and emails from their own dating archive to craft their very personal ceremony. They wrote their own vows that articulated their union in a way no traditional ceremony readings could. Each guest was given a book full of quotes and passages from the stories they’d read and shared during their relationship. Isn’t that just the neatest favor ever?
The intro goes like this:
“Early on in our relationship, we found a common language and interest in discussing the books we were reading together. On this day, we recognize that the stories we’ve encountered along the way, whether real or fictional, have undoubtedly shaped us as people and as a couple. In this book you’ll find a collection of quotes that we’ve read to each other over the past few years.
We could have given you some candied almonds or a scented candle, but this favor will look a lot cooler on your bookshelf. Consider it an offering of our sincerest gratitude.
Thank you for filling the pages of our story with tall tales and characters we will never forget.”
Vintage car! Another one! Never get tired of those.
And the beautiful decor put together by Julie Solomon Atwood.
It’s amazing how creative people can be during their wedding planning process, isn’t it? We’re thinking this goes down as a top 10 favor idea.
Congratulations, Danielle and Steve! We wish you many decades of stories ahead.

LOVE the lanterns in the barn, & the old-fashioned typeface on the menu cards. So charming!!!
Okay, I have been searching for typewriter key thumbtacks for my own escort display (apparently great minds think alike). Any clue where these came from?

I’m just imagining the bridesmaids swiveling them as they observe, the bride peeking out from behind one. They’re not just convenient and provide shade, but they can be used in artistic ways too!

I just love the creativity of the couple and the love they have for each other just showed how much they spent countless hours to make their wedding a success. Wish I could have that book too… Lovely dress by the way.
Really, this is one complete aesthetic view.
So happy to be a virtual fly on the wall.
The setting, the folks, the flowers, and even the food all off the same page.
And yet, it is that bride in that dress in the back of that truck with that guy and the dogs!…

When did this wedding take place? I am looking to do a June 4th wedding (2011) and I am wanting to know if I can do these same colors.
Thanks!
I’m really touched by the beauty of this wedding. You are so right – the book is one of the top favor ideas of all time! I read that the wedding was in Sonoma. Can you share name of the reception site?
This wedding is truely stunning! I am planning to get married in Tuscany next year. This wedding has a similar style to the Tuscan wedding venues. I hope you don’t mind but I have featured it (linking back to here) on my blog. My blog is set up to share my ideas and visions for my dream tuscan wedding with my family who don’t live near by. I am also using it as a way of scrapbooking all my ideas for it so I hope you don’t mind me including this wedding.
This is an absolutely beautiful wedding. I love the favors. What a great idea! Does anyone know if there are more pictures of them? Perhaps the inside? I’d love to do something similar, but as a program for the ceremony. If anyone has any details, please let me know!
Where is this venue? It is beautiful!
Wow so gorgeous! I’m looking for a venue for a girlfriend’s wedding and this venue looks PERFECT. What winery/estate is this?
Thanks , I have just been looking for information about this topic for ages and yours is the greatest I’ve discovered till now. But, what about the bottom line? Are you certain about the supply?
